I want to by a resonator cuz my car sounds too ricey...But would i be able to buy just any resonator or does it have to be a specific one....Cuz i was looking on a website and i was gonna get a vibrant high performance resonator the inlet is 2.5 inches and my exhaust itself is 2.5 inches and the resonator is 18 inches long sooo i jus want some facts before i buy one and put it on....Thank you.

As ive said before many a times. (and i expect tim to chime in on that)
The resonator helps SOOOOOOOO much. I just had an 18 inch glasspack welded in, thats it. cost roughly 14 bucks.
it brought all the rasp and tingy rice sound down to a nice clean sound that was just a little higher pitched than my exhaust was with a stock header.
and seeing as you have a hi flow cat, yours will sound even better, i had no cat at all.
BTW - move to the 2.0l section.

My brother has that on his Z as the only muffler, it's a turbo, so there isn't a ton of sound coming out anyway, but it sounds very good, low and powerful

Nah, not too many, but I do! Granted, I'm a Contour owner, but it's nearly the same thing ;). I'm going to be putting on a new exhaust soon, an SVT cat-back. I'm not sure what's going on with the tips, though. I'm buying the cat-back off of a friend and he just snapped a pic of the tips, said they were magnaflows, but didn't give me any details . I'll probably post a video to let you know how it sounds :)

Well if you think about it.... not many people have cougars anymore. Theyre starting to get to be an older car, however beautiful they are.
