View Full Version : Remote Entry Module ?

I bought a 99 ATX and the seller did not have the remote fob. I have searched the forum and found that car probably has the module since it has rear wiper, cruise, etc. ....is there a way, short of getting behind the dash of determining if the car indeed is equipped with the module ?....that way all i would need to get would be a new fob and of course program it....

your local ford dealer should be able to tell by looking at the vin

Look under the passenger side of the dash, if there is a box with blue and green connector(s) then you have keyless. if there is only one connector coming out of that box, a green or blue...can't remember which color then you don't.

Is there ANY way to extend the range of these things? I have a brand new fob, new batteries, and I still have to get within 5 feet to unlock the doors.

I have to be standing with my hand ready to lift the trunk to unlock it :rofl:
the transmitters do have a pretty short range, even when my car was brand new, ya still had to be within 10-20 feet of it to lock/unlock it.

Thanks for the help....car had module, got fob, got it programmed...:)
