Surviving? I was on Glen Ellyn Rd and Geneva Rd (in Glen Ellyn) around 3:15 PM today and trees (not branches) were falling all over the place! I was never so scared in my life! The cougar is fine. I tried calling 911, but they never picked up before I was in the Walgreen parking lot.

I can't believe there is a second set of storms coming through. What is up with this weather this past week!

In Gurnee the Naval Reserves were loading up sand bags over by the high school near the Des Plaines River. They're saying it may crest over again, just like it did a couple years ago :eek:

Damn small tree actually fell on my car at work. From what i could tell tho no dents or scratches. Had bunch of branches wedged in the rims tho.

I found my car very drivable last night... well partially, but thats my fault. After removing the A/C, I really have no functional defrost system so that ****ing blew.

anways it took me 2 hours to get from work to my parents house [should only take 5 minutes]... scariest ride of my life. half the sidestreets were blocked from fallen trees or were 6+ feet underwater. It was hard to tell if a street had 6 inches or 6 feet. There was a couple times I had the car submerged past the wheel wells. I can't believe she didnt stall out on me. The only time in recent memory that she's exceeded my expectations.

The power outages around me were so bad that both the Walgreens in the area had to close! Now you know that's bad!! Luckily, we didn't lose power though (my parents are out of town and my sisters would have been freaking out!), but we deserved it because we've already lost power three times this summer!! Once when it wasn't even raining! :rolleyes:
