Hi,
i just registered and have found this forum very helpful already...
i bought a 99 atx with a blown engine...a project for my son and i. he will be getting his license within a few months and that should give us enough time to either rebuild or replace the motor. the motor runs but has a bad knock... sounds like its somewhere on top, but until i open her up i cannot be sure...so starts the project :)

Start off with the basics, and work your way up from there. Welcome to NECO, and good luck!

I figure that if you can rebuild a 2.5 you can swap for a 3... good luck with th project anyway, and you may want to consider swapping the transmission too.

If its fine that's ok, a number of people have swapped out the atx for the mtx.... I wish I had. The mtx is just better than the atx... faster, more power to the road, more fun to drive, etc. But if you don't car about huge power the atx performs fine (I do care :(, but I still auto-x the atx )

I don't blame you, sounds like a fun project. Its a really fun car, are you planning on modding it at all afterwards?
