A QUICK HISTORY LESSON......
"On October 12, 2002 about 20+ people met in a mall parking lot with their cars to talk about performance and show off the work that they had done to the cars. The cars were mostly Grand Am’s with a few Grand Prix’s and a nice Monte Carlo SS. It was there that the words were uttered - “Wouldn’t it be awesome to have our own dedicated local site to our cars?”
The group kept in contact through forums and web sites already created by distant car enthusiasts. At the end of November 2002, Grand Impressions was born and was open to local Grand Am and Grand Prix owners. Shortly after its start, Grand Impressions realized that all makes needed a local club and support in a market and scene that hardly exists. We are open to all makes a models.
While our member numbers are no where near other sites - our members remain united, dedicated and true to the domestic scene and to each other.
There are several people who are the original founders and who make great contributions to our site. The original team consisted of the following, and without them, Grand Impressions would not exist.
Adam Swanson - Founder
Patrick Willson - Founder
Thomas Schwartz - Founder
Michael Makowsky - Founder
Amanda Gardner - Founder
Other people were also part of Grand Impressions development. They are not on all the time, but they are not forgotten. Gus, Dustin, Jim, Ben, John, Alex, Gabe and any one else I may have forgotten.
Big thanks go out to a lot of people and company’s out there. You guys know who you are. I also want to give a shout to all of our top members and most active members.
You guys help Grand Impressions everyday with your advertising and your commitment to the site and the team"
Five years ago on Oct. 12th, the orginal founding members of teamgi.com met for the very first time. I think we should celebrate that event by having an annual get together of friends, enthusiasts, and club members at the original meet location, the Carousel side of Eastview Mall on October 14th 2007. I hope we can make this an Annual event where the members can get together to celebrate the founding of the club. Hope to see you there!
Post to all other NY Car Forums to see if we can get a whole flock of people if you wish. Make it cool.
