What are ding guards?

those half rounded rubber pieces that run along the door and rear quarter panels. They are installed way too low to be effective on our car anyway so alot of us just yank em off.

Ahh I even didn't have them on wenn I bought my car, I even think I haven't seen any Cougar here with these things on it?! Maybe not on European cars...

Nicely done, just took mine off last weekend. took me about an hour too. And tons of goo gone. It kinda sucked, but it was all worth it.

I agree. I still have them on, but I have tons of dings regardless.

Looks so much better without it, maybe it's time I got mine off.

At this point, I'd just leave them on until you get time/money for a repaint / fix the dings... When you pull them off, who knows what might happen - you could notice a line where the paint has faded, or something like that which would look even worse)

all of my dings are on the fenders instead of doors anyway (and never had ding guards) ;)
