Check out these fog lights. They come in handy when I'm loading my dirtbike onto my little trailer at night. I thought it was pretty cool so I decided to share. This was one of the easiest things that I've ever installed in my car. Probably not as easy as those HID lights I was reading about though.

The button that is lit up is the one that controls the fog lights.

Neat idea... overkill but cool.

Something like that hooked to the brake lights or a switch inside would be great for me! Except tucked under the back bumper out of sight... Backing up at night is a nightmare with the windows tinted now. I can faintly see outside, but for the most part, I'm just checking before I get in the car...

And it would sure make a hopefully soon to come reverse camera so much better.

Ron calling excess lighting "overkill" - I never thought I would see the day!

In his other thread he stated that he likes to have a source of electricity when he goes away from his place and works on stuff. And I can imagine loading a bike on a trailer after dark wouldn't be very easy (or safe) without some lights.

Moraki
07-30-2007, 12:51 AM
That grey flexable conduit you used.

They make seal-tight either way. Metal or non metal

And you can tell how? lol the outside looks the same on either one.

doesnt to me at all. The metalic stuff is formed around the metal and there are more defined lines in it.

Do i have to go take pictures of it right now?

We have both in our truck right now from a job im working on.

There's no metal in the conduit.

seaneyo99
07-30-2007, 12:59 AM
Well i am just making the point that metal or non metal they look the same on the exterior.

Moraki
07-30-2007, 01:00 AM
ehh i could be wrong ... but i dealt with it all the time... and most of the time i could tell from the outside if it was metalic or non metalic.

seaneyo99

Yes and so have I. I install services for mobile home/double wides all the time and use this for every job. I also use this for other outdoor jobs.

Wow those look pretty ghetto there Bobby.

I know they look goofy, but damnit they are such a great help at night in dark parking lots. When I get a Roush rear and have to reroute the exhaust, I won't be able to have them mounted like that anymore, so I'll come up with a more "clean" setup then. I would still like to have them back there somehow though, I find them very helpful with my 5% tint in the back windows.

arskiracer

That's a good idea. I always wanted brighter backup lights, but I was thinking more about just replacing the stock back-up bulbs with something brighter.

Moraki
07-30-2007, 03:21 AM
Just watch out ... higher wattage means more heat.... and at least with the fog lights its been known to melt the housings. The only advantage you have with the reverse lights is that they are not on long so i might not matter.

azbobbybooshay10
07-30-2007, 03:53 AM
And also, the "light pattern" on the reverse lights isn't really designed for actually "casting out" light, its simply meant to illuminate to warn others you are in reverse.

Moraki
07-30-2007, 04:10 AM
Do you still think before you post, Bobby?

reverse lights are just a warning to others? You really think a car designer would think that way and that was his/her intent? It may be the inadvertent result of poor design but to say thats intentional is just absurdly ignorant.

Dunno bout you booby, but mine light up whats behind me so I dont hit anything when I back up as well. Must be a design flaw:eek:

Its a good idea (lights in trunk)if that what you need them for but Im still a little worried about your strange infatuation with Ronald McDonald:rofl:
