Currently I have a set of the $30 Napa knock-off driving lights on the front to help me out at night. I spend alot of time driving in northern AZ at night, so I like as much nighttime visibility as I can get. I'm not an idiot and drive around with them on in the city, like alot of these numbskulls do with their OEM fog lights and stuff, I only use then when I genuinely need them.
Right now the lights I have are kinda installed in a ghetto way, since I have full intentions of switching to an 01-02 front bumper this fall. Once I get the new bumper though, I want something alot "cleaner" looking than what I have. I'm looking at some sort of round driving lights about 2.5" in diameter or so that I can mount inside the "fog light delete" pieces. I've looked briefly, but so far all I can find are larger lights meant for trucks, nothing for cars. Anyone got any recommendations?

How about PIAA driving lights (http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamps-General.html)?

ARGH, how did I forget PIAA? They've got some stuff on there that looks like it will work perfect, thanks. Now I'd just have to figure out how to mount in in the cleanliest way in an 01-02 bumper (without fogs, I'd like to put them in the OEM fog area). Fog lights themselves are not really a concern for me. If I end up moving up there (which I am considering), I may end up trying to pick up a cheap Jeep Cherokee that I would drive during inclement weather, so I wouldn't be taking the Cougar out in the fog anyway.
EDIT: Oh baby..... (http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamp-pages/1100x.html)

Maybe some of us just like the look of driving around with our fog lights on. Not to mention i live in an area with real fog... and those fog lights dont do jack crap.... so i might as well use them sometime.
Do you really need to insult somebody with every post bobby?

Uh, I wasn't talking about anyone on here. Here in Phoenix, alot of people drive around with their fog lights on for absolutely no particular reason; heck, I see people with them on during the DAYTIME around here.
Had I not said anything, I'm sure someone would have said something smartass like "yeah, and you're gonna drive around the city with them on like you're cool or something and blind the **** out of people...", which is what people seem to do around here alot.

I thought OEM foglights were only there to "look cool." Do they have an actual use that I am unaware of?

You are correct sir!
Ive found them completely useless in the fog. might as well try and look cool with them... theres no point in saving them for anything.

The problem that I think bobby is talking about is people who put on fog lights and fail to aim them correctly, in which case they can get annoying.
I am quite guilty of turning on my fog lights whenever I use my normal head lights just cus I think it makes the car look better, haha.
i know this is kinda off topic but i bought some hella bulbs and they are bright as F***. i get flashed all the time. ive had many people ask me if i have hid's when i put these bulbs in

coming from a guy with a sig that shows his headlights on in broad daylight ;) (and don't tell me its the rules of autocross - it is still ironic).
In addition, I bet technically and in a broad sense, fog lights in the daylight probably help more people than your fog lights in real fog. let me explain.
your fogs in real fog "might" help you (i have found fog lights to be of dubious assistance in fog). that's one person helped...maybe.
others fog lights in daylight "could" help everyone they encounter - much like daytime running lights - it increases the visibility of the car. therefore - more people helped than their intended purpose.
as a side note...i find i am a happier person if i live and let live; if i don't judge others for their harmless actions - rather than thinking everyone needs to conform to my particular (or even peculiar) ideas.

Another idea that you could try is to hack up an oem fog and just use part of it (the lense and some of the back) and mount a real light inside. That will probably give you the look and function you want. The only possible problem with it is the second lense may change the function of the new light.
