Yup. And I had a fine for $92.50 to prove it.
Even the standard Cougar tail light covers with the holes cut around the boobs are illegal.

Yeah, but that just has to do with how big of dicks the cops like to be.

I'll second that note... although I didn't get a fine I was required to prove that I removed them. (only to put them back on a few days later). Also some places will fail your inspection because of them, but only if they are really picky.
^thats the standard covers I'm talking about

Its cause they both cover the reflector part that is on every tailight. Was pulled over in a previos car and looked into it. In every state it is illegal to cover the reflector part. Reason being is if your tails go out you still have somethign that shines.

Legally? On a car, not really anything. There is a legal limit, but the factory windows are probably already at it.

Legal tint in PA is 70% tint according to the state troop who gave me my $150 ticket. 70% visable light is pretty much a dirty window. Im pretty sure they dont even sell 70% tint. Lightest i have ever seen is 35% which is 2x the limit.
Can you tint and pass inspection? Yes! Can you tint and probably never get a ticket? Yeah! Can a cop stop you for no other reason and give you a ticket for tint if he so feels like it? Yes and had it done to me! :disgust:

I have the GT tinted covers (covers over the boobs too, no bubbles) and haven't had problems yet. Even with my 20% tint all around.
I did however replace my rear lights with LED ones so they shine much brighter through the tinted tails.

It all comes down to the officer and what they feel like doing. I got pulled over for tint and ticketed as well on an old GTI i had. I was told by the local cop that on a truck, minivan or sport utility I can tint the back windows as dark as I want, but I can NOT do the doors or windshield. On a car, nothing is allowed. Whether that's the actual laws or not, it's what I follow to not get a ticket.

And you're in MA :) PA cops are a whole different breed of bored Scully.

Wade you are correct. and i am pritty sure that this was already talked about in this section. Just search in this section and you will see i already posted the laws about it. I had a few conversations with the local cops here about the tint laws in PA.

Yes that's what my cop cousin told me also.
I also understand that any kind of taillight cover on a car, truck, van, etc is illegal. Even the wire type ones that you see on trucks. My brother had them on this truck years ago, cop pulled him over, and made him take them off right then and there.
