I have a 1999 Cougar that was one of the earlier ones off the line, got it in 1998. Have only had it serviced at the dealer, and it has only 55,000 miles on it. I want to keep it forever. Have always maintained it well, but now the antenna cover and front seat are ripped. I have a car bra and made the mistake of using Maguire's protectant on the bra. Now the headlight lenses are cloudy. Would like to clean up my beautiful baby, but don't have the skills. Registered on the board today to get information about meets/meetings to learn more. I have had a mustang, an MG, a SAAB, an old 1960 Mercedes, but never loved a car like I love this one. Do the Orlando members ever meet?

Hi! Welcome to NECO. I can (eventually) dig up some information on how to get your headlights cleaned up. We have members spread out all over that state, but recently have had a hieatus in meets. We're getting a few organized together, so keep in touch.
I know what you mean about being in love with the coug. If I hadn't of wrecked mine, I'd still have it. Oh well.

well go to a discount auto parts or a car parts place napa ect. theres this kit that you buy with this liquid with a kit that everything is included just follow directions and your lights will look alot better

or if their is a good detailing shop around, most of them will clear them up for you for about $20... i kno when i was stationed in nc their was a detail shop, a mom and pop type place who had their lil kit and they charged like $20 and the lights came out great

ignore cougar22 ;) sounds like he's referring to wet sanding the lights, which some people have done with mild success. Meguiars Plastic-X will solve all your problems. Click here: http://www.newcougar.org/forums/car-care/111900-headlight-polishing.html

anytime milo! ;) from somebody whose used both methods, i can easily say the wet sanding was a waste of time and I regret ever trying it. Plastic-X FTMFW! :)
