My cougar is DTG, so painting the dash pieces body color doesnt really do it for me.
I decided to go with silver.

This is the first time I have painted something like this, so I took my time through the whole thing, making sure I didn't mess anything up.
Except I rushed the installation and didn't let the paint on the center console sit and cure for long enough, so I messed up the paint in a few spots :banghead:
But thats okay, it looks like it belongs in an eight year old car now.
Questions? Comments? Flames?

I guess I need new seats then
The seats are grey, not tan (like they look in the pictures) so it looks better in person.

Oh, then the picture might not give the interior justice, next I would say some silver/cf pedal covers and door inserts and clean your floor!!

I wrote the following in a pm to someone. I just got up, I'm tired, I'm hungry, and I need my coffee, so I don't feel like re-writing it to context . . .
Cheers
So, now that you (hopefully) have the lights bezel, radio bezel, and vents all out, it's time to tackel the center console. Mind you I have a 99-00, it may be different for a 01-02 You have to first remove the shift knob and boot, leaving just the stick. Then you unscrew the two screws (one on either side) of the center console, close to the front. They are covered by small grey caps, which just come off. Don't be fooled by the funky looking pattern on the top, they are simple phillips head pattern. Next you remove the three screws inside the compartment under the arm rest. The console should be able to move freely now.
This is the tricky part. You need to get the console up and off of the e-brake. This involves alot of careful shimmying and accurately timed profanities. Be careful not to scratch or gouge it.
Hope that helps.

After 2001.
The 2001+ interior changed and began including those nice pedals along with the changes in the steering wheel, instrument cluster bezels, radio bezel, and the dash colors. There may be other details that changed too, but those are the majors.

Just plain old rubber/plastic pedals for me to. 00 SE, no cup spiller though  and seats with rectangular headrests not round. SE's are like little bits of all the different years just throwen in there.

Uhhh, it is American Traditions Ultra Enamel paint, flat finish. I think its called aluminum, or it has aluminum somewhere in the name.
