I've just acquired a maf adapter and a large ( 6x 5 1/4) K&N cone filter. The hole in the end of the filter is 2 inches & 15 /16th, less with the black rubber collar fitted. The Maf adapter internal bore is 2 inches 3/4 and the maf entrance is 3 inches and 1/4. Are these filter and maf adapter measurements the norm or have I been given 2.0L kit, cheers G.

Those seem really small. Assuming the Cougars & Contours use the same MAF, the MAF entrance is 84mm (3.3"). Here's a comparison of some maf adapters... the BAT/SPM one is missing pics, because they were linked to the (now down) SPMotorsports site.

Hi morbid; thanks for that reply, seems my barb is too small to be machined out to fit properly and it would be easier to get one of those you showed me.. This leaves the question of whether all K&N cone filters have the same size hole in the exit of them (mine 76mm) or if there are filters with larger ones to suit our MAFs and barbs. cheers G.

K&N filters come in a variety of sizes including different sized openings. You can check there web site for the correct size filter and opening to fit your needs.
