View Full Version : Want to swap your Series 1 Grille for *UK* Series 2 style?

Hi all, I'm a new soon-to-be UK Ford Cougar owner. Yay!
I am hopefully getting a Series 2 Ford Cougar with the UK spec grille between the headlights, but would like to swap this for the Series 1 USA spec grille.
The newer Series 2 grille has an oval Cougar emblem and can be easily fitted to your Series 1 by snipping the corners as you may know.
Many have done this so if you fancy a change and are interested in a free Air Mail transatlantic swapover, please let me know :)

Hey, I would love to trade with you. I just removed my series 1 US grille from my 2000 model, and I can pack it up and send it off anytime. Let me know what you want to do!

Just a question, why swap a Cougar 1 grill into a Cougar 2?
We do have Cougar Ver 2 over here too with the Cougar logo in it.

Hehe, well basically because I want to create this look, using the USA slatted grille with a chrome grill kit:

I created that in Photoshop using the USA grille from a Cougar 1, pasted onto a Cougar 2, so as yet it doesn't exist anywhere in the world... until next week...

:confused: Sorry, Ford did what 8 years ago? The Cougar 2 was released in the UK in late 2001 (5.5 years ago) and never with a slatted chrome grille. :cool:

No it was a pre-production grille, I wasn't meaning to sound so sarcastic. I have the chrome foglights from that same car. The grille and headlights were chrome as well. Looks really sharp though I must admit.

No worries. So what was the pre-production grille? The grille I am showing is the official Ford Cougar 1 USA grille, with a chrome kit from eBay added to every other slat.
