well since i am rebuilding my baby, a cpl ideas popped in my head

01-02 headlights
Painted: Black or Laser red
or the inserts wrapped in CF
I will be moving my HIDS and My angel eyes from my old lights to the new lights

CF fenders (they are on there way to my house, waiting by the mailbox patiently to install them)

I was thinking of having the WW grill wrapped in CF along with the headlights and spoiler.

Can I get a photoshop of the 01-02 headlights in black and laser red, also the WW grill in CF and the CF Fenders installed to see how it all will look and flow together. here are some pics of the car thanx.

Just my opinion but I have never been a fan of the CF fenders, even the ones people have had tinted to match the car a little better. Maybe if you could pull off a pint scheme similar to the Foose Mustang, but leaving the CF exposed on the hood and fenders that might look good. Not sure if the paint scheme would look right on a cougar, but it would be a nice way to incorporate the CF in the finders instead of them just sticking out like a sore thumb. See mustang pics below for reference.

its doable, i already have a lil bit of CF on the exterior( eclipse wrapped fuel door, mirror caps) I was even thinking of adding the CF hatch. I like the look of CF.

On me keeping the CF fenders all CF depends on "if and how they re fixed". if they can be patch and u cant see the patch i will leave them, if not then i will look into more paint schemes

i am liking this.....

if i paint the headlight inserts black and wrap my WW grill in CF then it would tie the cf hood and fenders all together nicely?

does that sound like a good idea?

i say no CF fenders and it would be golden...but that just my opinion..they look good on there too tho

ive never been a fan of spotted CF on a car, i think it just looks tacky and unfinished. Maybe if you painted the fenders something like this to flow with the hood / grill and your mirror covers

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a48/knappstaman/frdrle1-2.jpg

same pic photoshopped... it would turn out alot better but the original pic is of lower quality

I lack teh skillz in Photoshop (and also the software on my computer), but here's an idea to incorporate the CF into a paint scheme.

Similar to Knappsta's pic, but instead of coming up to the mirror, follow the body line to the back. On the doors and roof, paint above that either a very dark grey or black to "flow" with the CF. Then with the CF hatch, everything up top would flow very nicely.

fordrule
11-06-2007, 05:23 PM
well been thinking about redoing what i have in mind for the car. i DO NOT want to paint over any of the Carbon Fiber . i would like to incorporate it into the scheme.

I was thinking of painting the front bumper the grayphite grey and the roush pieces also. then have a design that goes from the side skirt to the top body line like this pic below
http://a525.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/9/l_65a6a5ddb79afcdd5671cc02e4065f7c.jpg

i am open to ideas. I am hoping i can be able to get the rosuh spoiler wrapped in CF and pick up a CF hatch. so the grey i will be using will be the lexus graphite grey..(the color that looks like cf) on top and keeping the laser red on the bottom.

You could try having the front bumper cover and front roush valences carbon wrapped...

You could always use the second body line down from the on I used, so you can include the front bumper in w/ the grey.

well i was working on something here as a base of what it will look like without anything but something to work off of. remember i DO NOT want to paint the fenders at all. I still need to figure out how to do the Carbon fiber to differenciate the greys. I still need to draw the roush kit on there and fog lights.

i am going to try and upload the larger file as an attachment. cant do it but i can email anyone if they want the larger original to mess with and modify it

I love that Z... the carbon with graphics looks so good. But it is also very dependent on that color paint... Laser Red wouldn't look so hot with too much carbon.

Why not paint the roof and A/B pilars (and trunk unless you are doing CF one) the Lexus grey, and follow the body line like most people do a two tone. That way the fender can stay exposed carbon fiber. And the front bumper a roush pieces can stay red :)
