Not that it matters to me...hopefully i will never part my car out...but i think there should be an exception to a rule in the for Sale section. The guy who's thread just got locked...his thread should not be locked. He is parting out a car trying to help people who mide need minor little bolts or pieces of plastic for their cougar. Do you honestly expect him to list a price for each and every little part in a car? How about let people who are parting out a car let people know what they are doing and let the thread live on. No exceptions except for that one. I don't see the problem with it. :)

That's why I didn't delete it....people can still PM him.

I agree with you completely, and I think we need a re-write of the classified rules, specifically for cases like this. I'll start working on something.

I think the lock was thrown on it too fast. Give the guy 24 hours or something to add prices, and if he says "F you, I'm not doing it" THEN lock it up. When Royce asked me to help with his parting out thread, it got locked up within a matter of minutes it seemed like. Then unlocking it was a PITA, as we couldn't find someone online at the time that could do it.

Clarify the rules to something like this:

"All 'Parting Out' threads MUST include prices of all of your larger, more common items (i.e. fenders, lights, etc). Requests for "special" parts can be made as needed (i.e. interior clips, body clips, etc). If you post an ad without any prices, you will be notified by a Moderator to add prices within 24 hours, or the thread will be closed."

How does that sound?
