Hello IN guys.

I bought a 99 2.5L MTX with 83k miles on it, it's around 84.5k miles. This is the first stick I've ever driven so I guess I learned on it, wasn't to hard. Over the past couple weeks things become smoother, more natural and more normal, till last night.

I was at a stop sign and decide to ease into 1st from about 2k, shifted to 2nd at about 6k, then into 3rd at about 5.5k...but it kinda like, didn't go lol. **** how to describe....pushes clutch in, puts into 3rd, releases clutch, gives gas, rpms up go up, car just...doesn't go. I MEAN, it did once the clutch caught I guess but I think that is slipping?

Also, I guess I'd like to describe this as well (remember I'm new to mtx's, please bare with me! <3). In the morning after the car has sat all night, I hop in, start it and the clutch is very...eh...hmm, easy lol? it's very soft, almost like pushing your hand into butter, and it just works pretty easily I guess. After the car warms up though its quite normal. Also, does a clutch have a pulse? I can feel it kinda beating if i rest my foot on the clutch in idle or while going (not pressing in).

I guess I should start saving for a SVT Clutch setup...how much am I looking at getting this installed? I have the tools and mechanical know how (at least I think i should) but no lift! Thanks for your times :D

yup sounds like a slipping clutch. goe easy on it untill you get the new one lined up. its not hard to swap out if you have the right tools

Yeah, I could imagine I could do it, I just don't have a lift to get the car up so I can work from under-neath.

welcome to Hoosier :)

Thanks :]

I drove for about 9 hours yesterday, pretty standard driving and more towards the end of the night I gave 2 pretty good launches at 4 grand and no slippage. I guess it's still got some life left if i take care of it.
