So last night i took my coog down to the local drag, i decided to swap out my 50 shot to a 75 shot since everybody said the car could handle it, apparently my car couldn't, my best run was a 15.225 @94.82 and it was misfiring like crazy at the top end. I ran six runs like this varying in the 15's. I decided to swap out to the 50 shot during the 7th run and the bottle only had a few pounds left but it still ran a 15.660@92.75, the last run i went off the bottle and got a 16.050@91.42, just so you know the drag is at 5,000 feet above sea level, i don't see why my car couldn't handle the 75 shot, i was hoping for 14's.

its not about IF your car can "handle" it....Its about IF you have enough fuel for 75 extra HP and IF your properly tuned to take advantage of Nitrous.

BTW if your trapping 91mph or higher then you would be capable of 14s. I hit mid 14s @ 92mph. Its all about a proper launch, not how much HP you have.

well if you live closer to sea level then being 5000 feet above it then that would be your problem maybe. thinner air up there means less air into the engine to combust with the nitrous.

You actually did run in the 14's. The altitude killed you.

Altitude correction formula. (http://www.greatlakesdragaway.com/correctionfactors.html)

Your run was 15.225 @ 94.82. 15.225 * 0.9380 = 14.281 and 94.82 * 1.0661 = 101.088. I am sure this is all just an estimate, but correcting for altitude, you ran a 14.281 @ 101.088. When you ran N/A you ran 15.78 @ 98.88. The trap for the N/A run seems very high, so I am sure this formula isn't 100% correct, but at least it gives you an idea.

I am stunned that you were misfiring and continued to keep running the 75 shot for six runs. That is just plain stupid.

well i'm glad to here that i would have ran 14's, i'm still hoping that i can to the 14's at this altitude next time though after i work out all the kinks and getting it running good. Yeah it was stupid of me to keep running while misfiring and i think i've learned my lesson after that night. Thanks for all your help and i'll let you guys know what i run next time

so today while i was in my shop, i put in a larger fuel jet and did my imrc relocation, took it out for a spin afterwards and wow big difference, the misfiring stopped with the 75 shot, it feels a lot faster so i am pretty sure i can accomplish my goal of 14's

The fuel jet for the 100 shot?

no its not for the 100 shot, the NX kit has jets for all fords, and its just a larger fuel jet for a 75 shot on a different ford vehicle, i can't remember which one.
