So I plan on getting the ring that goes in front of the intercooler. But I have a few questions first
1) Do I have to use N2O. Will CO2 do just fine, better, worse?
2) When spraying onto the intercooler, do I spray it all the way down the drag strip, or spray once before launch and it'll be cool enough for the entire run?
3) If I only spray once and run, would it be sufficient to use the purge system for spraying on the intercooler?

You can use CO2... just make sure the Intake is not near where it sprays. People have complained of power loss when spraying CO2 onto an IC core. Most have found the intake may ingest some of that CO2 if it's near by, and of course CO2 will choke the motor.
For cost... you can look into water sprayers. They work well and of course, you just fill the tank with mostly free water. Toss some ice in, and make it even colder.
Sppraying in a 1/4mile run... people will spray continually at the staging point only, and others will spray the entire way down the track. I think the differences are minimal since the rushing air when moving will do most of the cooling.
I'm not a huge fan of IC sprayers... my car has a factory water sprayer, which I do use infrequently, and it does help... but I wouldn't spend money on an IC sprayer...
Yes... you can make your own kit using the solenoid from a purge... if that was your question.

The problem I see with a purge solenoid is that you'd have to mount it rather far away from the IC to get it to cover a considerable area of the IC. You could probably rig up your own "ring" using the purge solenoid. But, the solenoid alone wouldn't cover much area.

about the purge solenoid... what i really meant was using the purge port on the main N2O solenoid that feeds the intake tract...
So essentially from the N2O tank, into the standard solenoid... from the purge port on standard solenoid into the purge solenoid (mounted just next to it), through a few feet of line, into the I/C ring and finally sprayed on the I/C itself.
Or am i just imagining things and it woudn't work like that at all....
Basically I'm trying to kill 2 birds with one stone.... before a run you should purge, well I figured instead of wasting the purge into the atmosphere, I can spray the I/C and get a few more ponies out of it... kinda like recycling the purge mist back into the equation for more power

This is what i will do with my setup when it's all said and done also. I have the nitrous now and i'm owrking on the 3L. I'll prolly spray a 35-50 shot on top of the boost. As long as the engine holds it would help to keep things cool, and probably make it safer to run the higher boost levels.
