ok, for those with turbo zetecs, did you guys just tap into the oil pan for in inlet/outlet of the oil to the turbo? is there sufficient oil pressure or is an external oil pump needed?

Normally you "T" off the oil pressure sensor location for the feed line and then you tap into the top of the pan for the drain.

We ALWAYS tap the right rear head. There is a nice oil gallery plug there and a 1/8" NPT fitting screws right into it.
Also it draws oil from the top of the head rather than down low so the engine gets it's oil first.
Next, duratec oil pressure is so high even up there that you need to use a restrictor. Figure -4 AN line may be enough if you have a nice short-path oil drain.
I find no difference between tapping the top of theoil pan on the side behind the manifold and tapping the block for oil drain capability. It is the DIAMETER of the line that is important. I try to use 1/2" copper pipe with compression and NPT fittings for all my work. The center section can be flexible hose but the ends should be hard tubing. Also, the hard tubing makes a better 90* turn into the pan. Avoid barbed hose fittings for 1/2" hose because they neck down less than 3/8-1/4" inside.
I also prefer the pan because it can be changed out if you ever get rid of the turbo kit but the block has to be plugged off. There is also more distance from the bottom of the turbo where the drain comes out and the top edge of the pan than there is in the side of the block, finally you can maintenance all your fittings much easier that way.
