Okay, all of you eastern/downstate slackers. It's spring out! Think we could do another meet in Poughkeepsie, get Pat and Cue to show up and have a cookout at the park again?
What do you say, Curtis?

Not that I will remember to check this thread, but so long as I'm not working or have anything planned, I am game for some BBQ at Bowdoin Park again... especially if it's soon, the weather is awesome!

Who's still up for this next weekend? Weather looks like it's going to be humid by the prospect of "isolated t-storms" or whatever it was weather.com said.

This weekend is probably not good for me, I don't think I will be around. I may be though, what time were we thinking of doing this? There are gazebos, but you have to rent them, so if it's going to rain, it will definately make things nasty.

Does noon sound like a good time? Who's handy with the charcoal - I'm a propane kind of a girl.
Or would it be simpler to grab something to eat at a restaurant in the area or something?

CHANGE OF VENUE
At this point, it seems simpler to just meet up and have someone else cook the food.
TGI Friday's in Newburgh, NY. (http://tgifridays.know-where.com/tgifridays/cgi/site?00360)
MEET AT NEWBURGH MALL (http://www.newburghmall.com/directions/index.htm) (CLICK FOR DIRECTIONS) AT 1 PM. PM ME FOR MY CELL PHONE NUMBER TO FIND OUT WHAT PART OF THE PARKING LOT ON SUNDAY.

FYI... It's not at the Newburgh Mall, so those of you coming off 87 to get there, you'll be back tracking.
Directions to TGI Fridays from Newburgh Exit (whatever exit # that is off 87):
-Pay toll, stay to the left for 300 South
-I believe (working on memory), it takes you to a side road which comes out across from some car dealers, at end of ramp/road (traffic light I believe), make a right. That will bring you to a traffic light where 300 is.
-You can either go straight through the light and make a left into parking lot, or you make the left at the light and make your first right into the parking lot, but either way, from that traffic light, you will see TGI Fridays on the corner up on a hill.
Directions to Newburgh Mall (if you really are meeting there first):
-Pay toll, stay to the right for 300 North
-Ramp puts you right onto 300 North, move into far left lane (the lane it puts you in is the exit lane for 84-East, which you don't want to be in)
-Make left into Newburgh mall at 2nd or 3rd traffic light. You'll see Newburgh Mall sign and a McDonalds at the front of the lot.
Assuming traffic isn't backed up, either destination is no more than 2 or 3 minutes from the toll booth. Actually, you can almost see both places from the toll. Those coming from the North down 87 will see the Newburgh Mall on your left just before the Newburgh Exit to give you your bearings.
Again, I don't know if Sunday is a definate for me. What time is this being planned for? I am going to try my best to be there.

Oh yeah, so depending where everyone is coming from, I gave directions based on coming off of 87.
If you are coming 84, here are the directions...
From East:
Newburgh Mall-
1)Take Exit 7N for 300 North (before the overpass)
2)Make right turn at end of the ramp
3)Move to left lane
4)Take left at next light into Mall
TGI Fridays-
1)Take Exit 7S for 300 South (after the overpass)
2)Merge onto 300 South and go to 2nd traffic light
3)Straight through light make first right into the parking lot or make right at light and take first left into parking lot
From West:
Newburgh Mall-(virtually the same)
1)Take Exit 7N for 300 North (after the overpass)
2)Make right at traffic light at the end of the ramp
3)Move into left lane
4)Make left into Mall at 2nd light
TGI Fridays-
1)Take Exit 7S for 300 South (before the overpass)
2)Reworked this ramp, but I believe it's a STOP sign now, and I think it's connected to the exit off 300 for the thruway, so make a right at the stop sign (only way you can go), and you may have to move one lane over to your left (go under the overpass there)
3)At first light, go straight and make first right into parking lot or go right and make your first left.
Noon is probably going to be too early for me. If that's the time that works best for everyone then go with it, but my vote would be in more towards 2-3 in the afternoon.

Beautiful weather in store for tomorrow!
Who's going besides me and Curtis?
Anybody have a problem with 2 or 3 pm instead so Pat can meet up with us? Pat - is that a definite if we change the time?
Jimmy? Brian?

It's still not a definate. I don't want to really give up doing other things if nobody is going to show. If it's just you and Curtis (not that it wouldn't be nice to see either of you), but it's seems a waste for everyone to drive that distance for just the three of us. I vote me move it to another day and see if more people won't show up. Typical Empire, moving the date won't make a difference unless it's in someone else's backyard, but whatever.
It's up to you all, but I won't be online for the rest of the night most likely, so just leave me an IM if you can letting me know the final decision.

I was planning on it being at 12pm but if you REALLY NEED to move it to 2pm, that's fine with me. Doesn't matter to me who else is coming, I'll show if it's just me and Cara Jo. I'm not gonna bail just because no one else is interested. I made a commitment and I'm sticking to it. and I know....that's atypical Empire NECO ;)

It's a definate that I won't be able to make it. Plans came through with something else that was already in the works, so I have to stick with that. Sorry, but I'll make it out another time. Is anyone planning on going to any shows or anything eventful this summer?
