View Full Version : Midwest Meet. May 20th autocross in Des Moines, Ia

Ok so the last real meet I went to was the Adventureland meet with Tim, Ron, Karin, and Jim last June...ish I think.
The one suggestion I have is on May 20th in Des Moines. It's an autocross with the SCCA. I'll be running and I think Jeremy (Prez) may go and it would be a good fun time to hang out with NECO peoples and be around a car event. We could also go out to dinner afterwards or something.
So who's up for it? Any opinions?
Just a thing to mention, it doesn't have to be an auto-x meet or anything. We can do whatever, I was just throwing it out there because I will be there and you all love me. :rofl:

Since our chapter covers a wide variety of states Des Moines is actually the middle ground for everyone. That is why I chose this location, that and I live in Ames now. :rofl:
Just an FYI for you Alkatraz our Chapter covers Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota and sometimes Kansas.

Anyone else planning to come and have some fun?
I plan to be there in the Evo at the autox. This is the NASA event rigth?
I am drag racing the Evo the 19th in Ceder Falls so as long as my clutch holds out I will be at the AutoX as well.

Jeremy, it's the SCCA one. I made a post on dragsource to figure out some details.
How about Hastings Nebraska, we just built a new racetrack out here and I could see about getting everyone some lap time.

Well in that case Sioux City is more central than Des Moines. But Sioux City sucks so yeah........ nevermind.

We shall start a new thread for a June meet sometime soon.
This autocross event will be a mini-meet since there will be so few NECO members. Although I don't know what could be more funny than me driving my car on the track for the first time. :rofl:
Hey I'll be popping my AutoX cherry also, so all is well.
I will not be attending the AutoX. Instead I will be going to Omaha to hang out with the crowd from SCR, NESS, and more!

Still panning on it. Depends on who all goes. I think a couple guys are backing out, we'll see. As long as I don't have to make the trip alone and it doesn't rain I will probably go.
From their web sites it says it's bracket racing does that sound right? Starts at 3pm.
