View Full Version : Quick Question?
Hey guys as some of know iam new here to AZ. I wanted to black out my head lights and tail lights, but i don't know what the laws are here for that. Ive been pulled over enough times in the short while ive been here, and I really cant afford to be pulled over again:rofl: . So I just wanted to know if its legal here. I have seen a number of trucks and cars with the blacked out tail lights, but I just wanted to ask you guys. Thanks:)

Hmm, I'm not sure what the legal mumbo jumbo is on that actually. I do see alot of cars with the blacked out taillights, but as a fellow driver I don't recommend doing it very dark. It makes it extremely tough to see the taillights if you black them out super dark. You could probably do a light smoke or nightshade, and if you replace the halogen bulbs with LED bulbs you probably wouldn't lose too much light output.
As for the headlights, you have an 01-02 car, right? If so, wait till tonight and I'll show you what I've got going on for that and tell me what you think.
EDIT: Nevermind, its a 99-00. I'd just take the orange corner marker out and call it good, 99-00's are already black anyway.
Yea I do have a 2000. I want my car to be basically completely blacked out. maybe I will just go ahead and get the Vtech tail light covers and the head light covers off of promotiontuning? Thanks for the advice though man.

Don't go thru James. You can get the taillight covers from a large variety of places like Summit Racing. In fact, you can Special Order them at Checker. Right around $45 IIRC.
Oh you can order them at checker? Didnt think of that actually. I will do that for sure then instead. Thanks. Any suggestions on Painting them??

You've got a couple options for painting.
A) Take the covers to a body shop and have them spray them to match the body color
B) Go get a can of Duplicolor spray paint for your paint code and paint them yourself, its super easy. Thats how I did the taillight covers for my old Cougar.
