Get aluminum knobs, eventually the paint will come off from using it and look bad or just got back to the black. Everything looks really good tho.
I painted mine to lately

^^^ washed, Primed, painted, cleared.
Primer was $3.50, paint was $6.00 Clear was $6.00. Its a good 20 dollar project.
Dont use that interior paint crap, it just scratches easily, fades in the light and just looks bad.

Actually the interior paint works pretty good except the center console area.
I had my entire Cavalier painted. The only thing that came to be a nuisance was the dust collecting & the center console. I'm pretty sure if I'd have clear coated the pieces it would've stopped the dust collection.
The center it was just kinda wierd cause it would be dusty/sticky, possibly cause I always sat my soda behind the shifter.
Either paint works just as the other for the interior.

^^^ Without clear it fades, no protection and scratches easier, you scratch that stuff you have to re-spray, you scratch clear it can be buffed out. Also without priming it wont stick properly and eventually peel off. Also the only real difference is the actual base color. Why would you buy the interior paint stuff that only comes in basic colors like red, blue, yellow, when you can just get color match or a better color.
You can spend 5 bucks and do it, but it wont last long and just wont look a good if you were to spend the extra couple bucks.

When I did mine, and a suggestion for you as well 20coug00
sand smooth original surface(or painted if already painted)
clean use whatever method you want, warm soap and water, etc...
Base coats:
lite coats let dry till tacky spray again
let dry completely, lightly sand.
then clearcoat with light coats.
until glassy...

My only constructive criticism is the knobs. Not for cosmetics, but for durability. They look great right now, however, as a rule of thumb, unless you're getting it factory painted, human touch contact areas like handles, knobs, button, etc. will fade quickly after time from you skin oils.
