So I installed my Xcal code, and now my cooling fans do not kick on. Is there a setting for them and it was just set too high? Or did I f something up.

ummm, when you turn on your A/C do the fans at least turn on low?

I honestly cant say I've ever heard/noticed my fans kicking on high.

I think the temp setting for them kicking on is 180

There is an option to delete the electric fan signal which the PCM sends using the electrodrive_fan_switch in system switches if this is turned off the PCM won't be giving the signal to get your fans going

Low speed fan usually comes on at 216 degrees

I just went in and checked and my temp for low speed is set at 180 and the high speed is 210. But it seems like it consistantly ran b-4 the tune, and now if I'm in heavy traffic for too long I have to blast my defroster to cool the engine. I don't hear the fans kicking on anymore. I was reading the intructions about downloading codes, and it says to unhook the fuse for the cooling fans, which I didn't do, but the fuses look fine.

You don't want your low speed fan so come on at 180, the thing will never turn off.... I have mine set at 200 for low speed and 210 i think for high speed and still to this day i have not heard my high speed kick on yet.

But why is my car still overheating?

Check your Cooling Fan Relays usually it is suggested that you change those when you change your fans, its like putting an old lightbulb in your house.....

So your car overheats when you are standstill. What temp does it get to when sitting?

Not sure, I can't seem to get my xcal live link to work, It keeps freezing up. Whenever I try to select paramiters it brings up a thing that says to choose what parameters, but nothing is listed and I can't click out of it.

I will try the relay. And also I will tune the low speed back to 200.

Check the fan fuse and relay first, than make sure the fans themselves are plugged in.

When you run the defrost it is actually causing the AC and the fans to come on. The only way the car would cool down is if the fans were working.
Therefore you probably have an issue with the temp turning on the fans. It could be the low-speed relay is shot.
I would assume if the pcm can command the fans on during AC operation then the code inyour xcal2 is set correctly so no need to go searching for the pcm switches that control the way the relay operates....
