You Can fit 6x8's in the rear stock speaker hole right?

Yep, 6x8 or 5x7, same basket size.

any recomendations as to what brand? I have kenwood 6x8's in the front but i have sony 5x8's in the back n i wanna get some 6x8's, not to mention the sonys are starting to sing like an american idol reject.

I have Pioneers that have held up fairly nicely. :shrug:

I love my Kenwoods. :) Very clear. Not great on the bass, but that's a 5x7/6x8 for you. I have a 12" sub for bass.
Truthfully I've been considering getting a component set for the Cougar, especially since I could use the 5x7s I have now in the camper (which uses 5x7s for the rear speakers - very convenient!). But again I'd probably go with Kenwoods - I've been very happy with all of the stuff I've gotten from them, for both cars.

Yea the kenwoods are nice but the bass is lacking. Im kinda lookin into thos Kappas. And ive looked at component speakers but if i decide on those I wont get them till im back home. I dont have alotta resources to put stuff together here... i have a screwdriver....if im lucky.
