Whats your ride at fest this year going to be?

I know alot of people have sold their cars, alot of people are renting cars, and alot of people are still with the cdw-27 platform. Made this thread so everyone can post what they will be bringing driving to fest, or trailer queening in. All you need to do is list year make and model and if it has any mods whether it be your shelby gt-h rental or a drag car you have been working on. I guess I will start.

cougar will have all new Jrak-ified suspension with coilovers and koni's. baer brakes. 3l with s/c, dpni n2o, and co2 cooling system. body kit, suicide doors, custom dash, too many monitors.........................Brian this hotel parking lot better be as safe as Indy!

If I go (contemplating, have to get time off, yadda yadda yadda) I'll be either in my 1985 XR-7 or the '99. The XR will be rocking a boost controller, FMIC and lord knows what else, the '99 would more than likely be a 3.0L, maybe a souped up 2.5L, but either way it needs a replacement engine :rofl:

Just in case you're still thinking about this, I'll toss my hat in the ring, and I do have experience towing cars. I've towed my Cougar and my Impala several thousand miles now.

1. You'll severely strain your ATX. Severely. Ask me about the transmission I blew in the motorhome while towing a Cougar to Fest last year. And that transmission was intended for heavy use. The CD4E is meant to move one Cougar, not two of them.

2. You'll strain the brakes in your ATX. Adding that much weight to your car will more than double your braking distance. Maybe as much as triple it. You could easily overheat the brakes in your ATX. Worse, you could wreck both cars because you won't be able to stop fast enough.

3. You'll do some major straining of the unibody of the ATX. It's not built to handle pulling the weight of another car. And when you use the brakes, that second car will push against the unibody of the first car. I don't know how strong unibodies are, but that much push-pull can't be good for it.

The one good part of your idea was to tow the MTX, since they can be flat towed indefinitely, but only at speeds up to 55 mph. (I use a tow dolly instead of flat towing so that I can take the Impala on trips if I choose.)

Towing a car is hard work even with my motorhome, and that thing has more than enough drivetrain to handle it, and the frame of the motorhome is built for heavy use like that (it's a full ton truck, and the frame rails are huge). And I have brakes on the tow dolly. You'll have none of those advantages.
