Anyone know where I could find a 65mm Throttle Body and a Port and Polished Intake Manifold for the 2.0 Zetec???

they dont make an aftermarket intake manifold for our engine.
the throttle body can be found by searching for Focus Central 65mm throttle body, but that isnt a direct swap.

you could use the ford racing intake manifold if you find one. a few people use them on zx2's, which is pretty much the same engine as the cougar. there a bolt or two that doesnt line up or you have to redrill a hole of something. check out teamzx2.com, i know there was atleast one person using a focus manifold...or you could just port and polish your stock one if you know how to.

I've ran across a few performance manifolds a while back. I just searched under 2.0 Zetec and didn't know which vehicle the manifold was for.
How much customization is there for the throttle body???

The Focus Central 65mm TB will bolt up to our intake manifold, but its diameter is larger than stock. So, it won't fit in the stock intake. If you have an aftermarket intake that has a rubber or silicone 90 degree coupler going to the TB, you can find a different coupler that fits around the TB. I think I was able to stretch a 2.5" to 3.0" coupler to fit on my FC 65mm TB.
Also if you get the '00-'02 FC TB you'll have to get a focus throttle cable. If you get the later '03-'04 FC TB the stock throttle and cruise cables should connect right up to the TB.

The new Ford Racing Aluminum Intake Manifold for the Focus should be available soon. Its supposed to bolt right up to the head and not require drilling and tapping the head like the previous version required.

Considering the fact that my Cougar doesn't have cruise control, is there any difference in the throttle body or cable that I have to get?

No differences. You'll still have to buy the focus throttle cable if you get the '00-'02 FC TB.
You could go on focaljet and see if anyone is selling a used TB.
BTW: I don't think a Port and Polished Intake Manifold exists, and the stock intake manifold is plastic.

Yea I was researching that and couldn't find one. Found that out the other day.

The most anyone in my area does when they have a plastic intake is either grind the plastic ports a tad bigger or create/find a intake.
Metal intakes that work on our engines are: Miatas & older Escort models.
Some I've seen look exactly like ours & others like tube-style intake. The tube-style puts the throttlebody on the passenger side. A rare one I've seen on some escorts is a flip of it. The tube styles are...alright but, you'd have to do some modification to get things working. The pass.-side version severely limits CAI clearance.
The normal version intake is very nice cause the ports are already bigger than the ones on ours....but can STILL be PnP'd. I think our TB is the only thing that needs to be modded to fit...nothing major, just a plate spacer..I believe.

Where can I find the throttle cable and plate spacer?
Is that all it needs to mod the TB?

If anything go to a junkyard & see if you can find the intake. I've yet to be able to go & find one....I've heard you have to mod & yet also the reverse.
I've heard of a use of a plate spacer or just a decently thick TB Gasket. I think its something about our TB that doesn't mate up to it perfect & leaks air. Course it might just be a vehicle clearance issue thing.
