i want to get some hallogen lights for my cougar and while i was searching around i noticed that people were getting 300$ kits to install HID lights. do i need a kit to replace my regular orange lights with new hallogen lights?

Huh? :confused: HID kits usually replace your low beam or high beam bulb, not the orange turn signal bulbs. You might be able to put in an LED bulb in place of the orange halogen bulbs, but I honestly couldn't tell you much more about that.
