Hey everyone! I'm I8URVR6, I'm a respected regular over at srtforums and I just thought I'd hop over here and say hello.

I thought about the mercury cougar when they came out with that last body style, and I even test drove one. In the end I just wasn't up for something that ran nearly 8 seconds 0-60 and mid 16's in the quarter mile. Plus it would have been a used car.

In the end I wanted the extra speed and handling, and also a little more luxury, so I bought a Dodge SRT4. Anyways, I thought I'd just say hello to everyone, I hope to meet some nice people here, I think the cougars are an okay car they are just a little slow and not too well put together.

An old DODGE minivan running a big turbo kit on TIII 2.2 DOHC motor out of an R/T model spirit from 1991. That minivan runs 11's in the quarter mile, that's quicker than most big blocks fyi :)

It's intriguing how they put that in there, it's not as though that's an astrovan or windstar doing that. It's technically the older brother to the srt4, hardly an insult considering the work done to the van.

The srt4 actually has poor wheels and tires on the stock version, I have an ACR with Tein S Tech Springs, SPC CamberKit, and 17'' Enkei Evo 5's. She handles very nicely, it was great stock but I wanted something even better.

What ford/mercury really needs to do is toss a turbo into that Fusion of theirs. Pretty much the only nice looking car ford has aside from the new mustangs.

I wanted to say something more about that video, because it kind of made me chuckle. I'm sure it's repost times 1000, I saw it probably 2 years ago, but something funny is that any car under any horsepower can have significant failure in the engine. That being said, to say that a 500 hp srt4 is junk, or going to blow up, that's silly. There are a lot of people running the AGP 50trim and other set ups for 500 horsepower, on stock block and internals, as daily drivers. Myself, I get 30mpg on my 50trim, and I've had very few problems once I got everything tuned up. Sure, blew off a few pipes here and there, but only in the beginning. If you notice, Mustang drivers made that video, probably out of jealousy.

The only stock GT mustang that is quicker than an srt4 is the 2005 model, stock for stock, and even then it's pretty much a driver's race. I think that kind of ticks them off some, but oh well, it's a fact. The cobra is very quick, roush too (as long as you don't have that idiotic stage I which is just a visual upgrade, what a joke).

Although i respect the neon SRT-4 a lot as a car, i cant say the same for the drivers. MOST of them are cocky and think they can beat anything. It just goes to their head i guess.

I can respect that, there are some real asshats out there. But when you drive the fastest new car sold under 25K, you catch a lot of unnecessary crap from RSX/Honda drivers, Mustang drivers, and other people who drive cars that aren't as quick. It goes both ways.

I will say though that a cougar with a 3L swap is capable of making close to 410hp to the wheels with a turbo and supporting modifications.

i will also say that there is a cougar in the making that is said to have 300 or so hp to the wheels...but ill let him chime in if he wants.
