View Full Version : Cougar Hood Lift Gas Spring Strut Shock Group Buy

CSVT4LIFE

This is for the people that are interested in the Hood Lift Gas Spring struts...Here are the prices...

Thanks for your interest in our QuickLIFT products. We support web forums and conduct group buys directly from us, the manufacturer – the manner in which we conduct our group buys is simple, along with the pricing.
After the number of valid buyers has been determined, we will enable a custom URL for your group that will be posted for a short period of time (generally 2 weeks). This link will allow purchases to take place at the determined discount rate. Each U.S. customer will receive their
FedEx tracking number in an email soon after payment is received. After the predetermined purchase quantity has been reached, we will ship out all packages and the tracking numbers will become valid. The initial number of valid buyers is critical, we will not further discount
the group buy pricing if the number of customers exceeds what was initially agreed upon (i.e pricing is fixed once group buy begins).
We also support international group buys with the option to ship to one location at adiscounted rate (all products shipped together). We will need to know the exact quantity before giving a shipping price, however, this unit price will be considerably less than individualpurchase rate.
Our pricing is as follows:

QTY 1-9 Redline Tuning QuickLIFT - $69.95 (no discount)

QTY 10-19 Redline Tuning QuickLIFT - $64.95 ($5 discount) + shipping

QTY 20-29 Redline Tuning QuickLIFT - $59.95 ($10 discount) + shipping

QTY 30+ Redline Tuning QuickLIFT - $56.95 ($13 discount) + shipping

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks,
Brian

ok, CEG has some updated info that hasnt been cross posted, please read.

Hello Everyone,
I want to clear up some confusion on the difference in our QuickLIFT kits:

base QuickLIFT kit features black gas springs with silver Zinc plated brackets and hardware. 2 year warranty.

QuickLIFT PLUS Our latest release, a cross between our base QuickLIFT system and our QuickLIFT ELITE. All black components, including: the QuickLIFT black e-coated gas springs, black shafts, black ball-stud end fittings & black powder-coated brackets (from the ELITE system) along with the best mounting hardware. 2 year warranty. This kit isn't available for the Contour, since we are using ball studs for the mounting hardware.

For those who want the best money can buy - QuickLIFT ELITE. Includes the ultimate 316L Stainless Steel gas springs, black powder-coated brackets and the best mounting hardware. 4 year warranty.

All kits function the same and use the same force gas springs. For those of you with Carbon fiber hoods, we do have lower force gas springs we can use in your kit.

Regards,
Andreas

Owner/Partner
Redline Tuning LLC

and also

For those with Carbon Fiber hoods, you can order either the base QuickLIFT kit or the Elite QuickLIFT kit and if you specifiy that you have a Carbon Fiber hood we will substitute the gas springs with lower force, either Stainless steel or black depending on what kit you ordered.
Regards,
Andreas

well... think about it, a stock hood weighs like 42 lbs... and then a carbon fiber one weighs like what? 17 - 19 lbs?

basically if you were to buy the shocks for metal, ONE would be able to hold up the carbon fiber.

Death to FedEX!!!!!!

still haven't arrived!!!!! tracking says they are expected to arrive last wednesday....today is SUNDAY!!!!

I am not kidding you....between saturday last week and tuesday this week i placed 3 orders from 3 different sites (jc whitney, sports authority, and these struts) and they all used FedEx. all 3 orders have already passed the expected date of arrival. i know when i get something from UPS and they say expected date of arrival, its htere when they say it is.

justa2pt5L
02-20-2007, 06:40 AM
Well I can tell you why fedex takes so long. I just checked the tracking info on my package. The kit was picked up in Ann Arbor, Michigan then shipped all they way down to Toledo, Ohio then back up to Shelby, Michigan where I'm located. Talk about taking the long route.

I even called them to see why on earth they would do such a stupid thing like that and she didn't want to comment on the subject. All she kept saying was "sometimes they do that and you're pkg is scheduled for ontime delivery today."They must have to travel a certain distance or something. :bs:

If I would of known the kit was comming from next door I would've walked over to get it.:banghead:

COOGAH

i once watched a documentary on them a long time ago. its just the way they are set up. unless its going to the same city, the package travels far distances. they still suck imho

how the **** am i gonna rivet into carbon fiber???

Yofavcracka
02-21-2007, 06:19 PM
also... it says to compress the gas spring... holy ****!!!!!

it had to put half my wieght on it just to get it to go down, theres no way that itll work on my hood, my carbon fiber hood would snap in half.
EDIT: me and my dad just placed the gas spring under his hood as he held it, i compressed.... i had to put alot of muscle into it to drop down his hood on his jeep grand cherokee... ONE strut needs like 50 lbs of force to push down.

I hate fedex

they told me they couldn't deliver it b/c they got the wrong address. so i tells them to read what address they had and lo and behold its the right one. i tell them UPS delivers here all the time, she didn't like that. apparently i had to put the name of the business along with my name. again i told her UPS never had any problems with it. hmmmm you go to a building that has different businesses in it and the package in question says Sami Saba and one of those businesses is Sami's......I wonder

Well. installed mine today. talked to
the guy and yes they sent me the correct springs... they just seemed waaaay too strong until i put them on... wierd?

install was pretty straight forward. the rivets sucked, so one of them got ****ed up and i ended up haveing to weld a bracket to theirs and then rivetting that to my hood. hearing he crunching fiberglass behind carbon fiber isnt a fun sound haha.

Mines came in last Friday, will put them on tonight. Did anyone else get the screw in ball sockets. I notice everyone else talking about rivets. My didn't come with rivets

Mine came today, and it has rivets with it. Post up pictures of your kit, I'm interested to see the differences. You did get the basic QuickLIFT kit, right?

i put mine on my carbon fiber hood.... rivets were too small to hold and they ripped out. so i custom welded new brackets and added beefy rivets which held it on nice.
