View Full Version : GB - 1/18th scale Ford Cougar

CougarBum
01-30-2007, 03:16 PM
I have a supplier where I have ordered the 1/18th scale cougar models. I understand they are hard to find, and so I'm thinking of opening up a group buy for them. The only colour they come in is the melina blue. I was wondering who would be interested in ordering one. I already spoke to the supplier, and he is aware of this group buy and will order whatever amount I request. I have ordered from him several times in the past, and have always been pleased with the way he does business.

Price: $60.00 USD plus shipping. I can find out what shipping is, but expect to pay ~$20( per single order) for it.

Last day to submit payment is March 10th. Thanks everyone!

they are metal and use actual production paint, so in theory you could take it to a shop and have it painted just like a normal car, only with less masking. others have done it and they have turned out great.

either way you arent going to find any more of these so its better to have one in pur...melina than to not have one at all

CougarBum

Thanks Jason. Unfortunately they only do come in 1 colour. But this is the only place I was able to find them and have been using them for the past 5years+. The seller always came through, and Ive relied on him since I placed my first order. I have nothing but great things to say about this guy.

michcougar, would you be interested in splitting shipping? Would also give us an excuse to meet one of these days...

While I normally wouldn't pay $60 for a model. I've always wanted a Cougar model... Infact i'm tempted to get 2. And have alittle fun modifying one?

I'll let you know soon... When does this GB end?

All of us over in the Ontario section will be spliting the cost of shipping. So for sure we can include you.

I think i might have to reduce my order down to 1. As much as I want 2 of them, so i can mod one, i just can't justify the cost of getting 2 of them. 120US plus shipping is just something I can't afford to spend right now.

So only one for me.

I found out shipping prices:

S&H per model would be:

$12.95 in the US (insured Priority Mail)
$15.00 to Canada (insured Airmail Parcel Post)
$26.00 to Australia (insured Airmail Parcel Post)

Previously, I also had to pay duties for international orders. Canada (if I remember correctly) was approx. $17

Excelcier
02-12-2007, 09:44 AM
Are those shiping costs from your house as a central point or is this company overseas just going to ship them out to all the places here in North America directly.

CougarBum
02-12-2007, 10:26 AM
They're going to be shipped out of US. So most of you dont have to worry about custom fees.

I'm gonna try and send all the Ontario ones in the same box, perhaps save a few bucks. I'll have them delivered to me, and then hand them out as I see you. I'll make sure everyone is ok with that first. I have no problem splitting up the Ontario order if anyone wants to get them directly.

Ok I got my paypal info straightened out.

For those who want one, please paypal (http://www.paypal.com) $60USD plus the shipping to CougarBum@hotmail.com, and send me a PM with your transaction ID# , phone number and the address you want it sent to, so I can keep track of who paid. If you do not have paypal, please PM me for other secure payment methods.

Shipping prices per model again are:

$12.95 USD in the US (insured Priority Mail)
$15.00 USD to Canada (insured Airmail Parcel Post)
$26.00 USD to Australia (insured Airmail Parcel Post)

I arranged with the supplier that I will send him a lump sum for all the orders, and he will have that amount sent from the manufacturer. Once he gets them he will ship the orders out to each one of you, and 1 big order to Ontario, where we will split it up.

I will keep everyone updated on the status of this group buy. I'm hoping to have everyone's orders in by the end of Feb, and I will place the order with my supplier on March 1st. At that point, it should take about 2 weeks for the order to arrive, and another week to get to you.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Shipment to Canada:

Here are your 2 choices:

You can either pay $15 USD and have it shippeed from the US, and YOU pay the custom fees ( approx. $13 CAN)

or

You can join the group shipment to Canada for $20 USD , and I take care of the custom charges.

I will be in Toronto, in the area of the Hershey Centre March 29 to 31st.

Where abouts in Toronto are you from the Hershey Centre? Should the models be in by then?? I'll be up there for a robotics competition, and won't have my own car, but I will have one up there for me to use. If your not to far from there I could swing by and pick up mine and mich's models, assuming he's not going to be up there before then...

Hey all,

Just wanted to give everyone and update on the order. The US order has arrived and is being shipped out this week. I requested for a tracking number so that I can pass onto each one of you.

For the CND order, as most of you know, I was away on vacation last week, so I will find out tomorrow if they have arrived at my shipping address. They were shipped out at the same time, so since the US order has arrived, the CND one should have as well.

Sorry for the time it took to ship it from europe. It took longer than expected, but things should be going really quick now. Thanks all for your patience.

Hello, I found this topic right now and I am surprised that those models are made in Europe. Could you please define the producer. I would like one little Cougar also :)

CougarBum
04-11-2007, 10:37 AM
I think there might be a few more models available, so if you're interested, I can place an order for you for the prices mentioned in the 1st post. I know a bit more were ordered by my supplier in the US, so that he has some in stock.

I would have to find out what the shipping would be to Chech Republic though.

Otherwise, I might do another group buy for these another time.
