in the cougarfest forum, there's a vote for the date. either the weekend after the 4th of July or the next after that.
the 1day/13hrs came from Google Maps going thru Salt Lake City both from the bay area or from my address. If I go, I'd love to take my car - but damn..... that would be $600-$700ish in fuel alone.

Down here in AZ we're looking at doing it in two days.
Day 1: Phoenix -> Kansas City (Google says 19 hours)
Day 2: KC -> Boardman (Google says 12 hours)
Depending on which way you guys go, we might be able to join up at some point and get a decent caravan going from the west coast.

I'm thinking, unless you are thinking of meeting up between flights at CHI, probably not going to happen

I would like to go, it would be my first Cougarfest, and I happen to know somebody that lives in Boardman, but every time I say I'm going to an event it turns out I can't go...

It's only 4 hours further than going to Indy.
I just hope driving through Nebraska isn't as boring as driving through eastern Nevada. Eastern Nevada kills your soul.
And NorCal NECO doesn't do a one-day stop anywhere. That's for pussies.
We drive straight, stopping only for gas and bathroom breaks, switching drivers en route and sleeping in shifts!
We'd be going the northern route along 80....
Though honestly, after looking at that map.. we might as well just go to New York for a day or two afterwards, since it's only like 2 states over.

It's only cost-savings if you have passengers to share the cost.
Though to be honest, the drive itself is pretty spectacular, and you get to be one of the people that says, "Yes, I drove here. From the other side of the goddamn country, and now I'm only 2 states away from the Atlantic. My balls are so much bigger than yours, it's not even funny." and then proceed to get drunk.

Only thing about going straight thru is the need for alternate drivers. I'm not too keen on someone else driving my car (it may sound selfish but thats just the way I am I guess), plus I'd love to do the whole drive myself so I can see all the sights along the way.

I'm going..But I'm not sure I'll be able to drive. I don't have the vacation to cover the trip out there..I won't know probably till like end of april. Andrew we can close to comfortably fit 3 people and rotate drivers. We could probably make it in 40 hours again easily..gas pretty much gets split between everyone. I'll be flying back though..

Thought might fly out and have my car shipped - then drive home...
wanna take a guess at a one way price?
$995 - $1100 ----------- ONE WAY!

Possibly, but whats wrong with a little extra incentive to get you guys out to Cougarfest? When will be the next time you will be in Ohio and able to check out something that only exists in one place, throughout the whole world?

I dunno if this will be helpful or not, however, I am just east of the Mississippi River (literally . . . I can see it out my living room window) . . . anyways, its 563 miles from here to Boardman. If anyone is looking for a place to make a "pit stop" of sorts for the night and then make one final hard push on Thursday, I'd be open to letting people crash.

would you have undies on your head at the time?

I'm not sure we could push that far in one day, unless we do two drivers (something I feel iffy about right now). Kansas City, MO is somewhere around 19 hours on Google Maps, to get to you we'd have to get all the way across MO as well.
