If you were me, what would you do? I miss my Cougar alot, but at I wanna have something quick. Low 14's for the ITR EK, and high 15's for the Cougar. Its a 5 speed, with a custom exhaust. I gotta get rid of my car first, I been having alot of problems with it since day one.
ITR Swapped EK with like 50k miles
JDM Integra Type R swap
JDM GSR Tranny
I/H/E
Tuned on Crome
02 Cougar XR with 50k miles
Custom Borla Duels

That XR should be good for better than a high 15. My ragged out 00 ran a LOW 15 on the worst day for racing ever, with a few bolt-ons.
I'm certain it's capable of high 14's without ever cracking the motor open.

I love Integras and i was about to get one before i bought my coug, however think about this... You will be paying out the ass for insurance. Those cars are rated extreamly high for thieft and people who put them togeather know how to take them apart! My buddy had a Integra with a Clifford alarm. He said that three lil dudes poped his hood, silenced his alarm and hotwired the car before my buddy even had a chance to find something heavy and leave his house. They are nice cars and are very quick, but everything comes at a price!

not to mention you can start a civic with a regular screw driver. atleast with the cougar you need a star screwdriver then a flat head. lol.
but...a swapped EK should be faster than low 14's. i got a friend who did a GSR swap in his EK with just bolt ons hes been in the 13's.
so i dont really know. i would keep the EK though. easy to tune and easy to fix. just keep it locked up and safe.

Clean ass car, I really like this one. Nice, low miles, and its a limited model. I just want to find a car I can drive and that will be fun. I know Cougars aren't the most reliable things in the world. But my last ZN had no problems besides general maintence.

Yeah, that's a nice car. But I would NEVER pay that much for a stock Cougar nowadays. For that amount of money, I would get a nice used Cougar for ~$8,000 and buy a 3L from Blackcoog. (http://www.3lduratec.com/main.html)

I would like to buy a already swapped 3L cougar, but no one is selling theres. They might be in a little while though. I want something in the 14's, thats all. Without spray, I am really leary of nitrous.

Not too difficult. Although the 99-00 models are historically quicker than 01-02 models. No idea why, but that's what the timeslips say. GMK and I had the quickest times at Fest 05; he has a 99, and I have a 00.
Kenny ran a best of 14.7 with similar mods as me, and a lot more weight reduction. I'll trade a few tenths for power leather seats though :P
I think a good set of light rims goes a LONG way to better quarter times in these cars. Stock rims are BOAT ANCHORS, especially the 17's on the XR's and special editions.

Historically the 99-00 models have alot more problems, than the 01-02's(sunroof)

I would take the Itr hatch hands down. Very easy ways you can keep thiefs out without spending more than $50 if even that much. Insurance really isn't that bad on those. Got a quote for a EK a while back that was over 400HP so my buddy could compare and it was decently cheap. Depends on who you use also though.

Imma huge Honda fan, but I don't know. I really miss my ZN lol, I dont wanna have the yellow though. Something that sticks out, and a red XR is a good buy. I found a red XR with 50k miles for 10k, I know I will be able to get it for less than that. He has duel exhaust and a K&N Drop In, other than that its all stock. I am also kicking around the idea of a Focus SVT, they are about as reliable as a Cougar. There is a competition orange one with Euro spec package. I got lots of time to make my decision. After all I gotta get rid of my car first.

Yea i am actually a fan of the Focus SVT, i dunno i hate the body shape, but they are decent. However, i like the body shape of the cougar a lot more! The coug is big unlike the focus. The SVT focus is damn quick for a lil light car! It beat my 2003 Jetta VR6 5speed when i was rocking that!
