I really havn't figured anything out as of yet. I've got a local guy who had just replaced his transmission awhile ago, so I think I may have the instalation covered. Your only 750mi away ;( I live 30 minutes north of the Twin Cities, Minnesota.

I've gota figure out exactly what I'm going to end up doing. I may just yank out the tranny, install a new torsen and put it back in. The trans in my car is in great shape. but ya never know when you might need a spare...

Kyle, youll spend 3-600 on a torsen...

Yeah we have been Pm'ing a bit about it.

and the best price for the torsen I have been able to fine is $525, but then you still have to get the shims, speedo gear and new bearings. Then you have to have the gear lash set up properly so you don't roach the pinion and ring gear. So just to set up the torsen to drop in you are looking at $650 minimum.

In my garage Matt, the whole time, lol

Well then Kyle it looks like you are ahead of the game then. Not too many people have presses at their disposal. But I took the hit myself on getting one when I failed a wheelbearing. and since then I have been able to help out 4 local members in the same situation. It's saved me hundreds of $ and not to mention time saved by having it at my disposal when I need something pressed on :)

KyleQ

Yeah, most of the time I'll freeze the differential and heat up the bearings and let physics do the work. If that doesn't work out, I use the press.

I do the same with wheel bearings. Having a mini beer fridge in the garage helps out a lot. Now I just need an oven so I can expand things and cure powdercoat.

Hehe, time to do some garage sale bouncing. Find an old oven for the garage, or find somthing smaller that you can use. All we need for our garage to complete it is a bigger air compressor and a press. (walking to th eneighbors works, but not @ 1am :P) Having a mig welder and a plasma cutter are awesome!

I have a nice Miller Mig and a huge ass compressor, lay down bandsaw, drill press, pan brake, 14" chop saw, tuning bender, 12" disk grinder.. The list goes on.

if you really want an oven Jason look on craigslist, peopel are always giving old ass ovens away that still work but they are avocado or gold color.

I do not understand why this is not selling. This would be a great back up for anyone who likes spirited driving. Mine cost $2100 to rebuild. $400 is a whole lot better. Bump for a great guy
