iTunes was giving me problems with not opening and even the guys at Apple couldn't help me. So i went into Add/Remove programs and removed Quicktime and iTunes as well as 3 or 4 "mysearchbars" spyware crap, along with iMesh, and WinMx because i never use them anymore. I then rebooted my computer. When the computer reset and the screen came up "adam or guest" I clicked Adam and entered my password. My desktop background came up... and that was it. No shortcuts, no icons, no toolbar, no nothing. I hit Alt-Cntrl-Del and 2 mins later the box pops up with only like 10 things running, mostly system files. So I rebooted again and again only getting the same results, even when opening windows as a guest. What happend? How do i fix? Nothing is loading and I can only access the computer through safe mode now, which doesnt let me get online so im stuck logging on at work.

Did you happen to have system restore enabled? You could try running the recovery console and replace the system files.
I've had this happen to me also but it was a virus that changed my explorer.exe file and some other files... i ended up having to wipe the drive and reinstall. But i'd first try and see if replacing the system files works first and then go the route of saving your files to another drive and reinstalling the operating system

:gtfo: you post *****. That helped him in no way shape or form.
Sounds to me like a wicked case of spyware/adware. Try going into safemode. then once there go to Start, RUN and type in msconfig, then start up and just for sh*ts make sure everything has checks by it.

Norcal actually told you something other than "buy a mac"???
I fear you're going to need to format and reinstall windows.
You will lose all your music and pix unless you can find some way to back them up.

try getting ahold of an external hard drive. Boot the computer up in safe mode and transfer your music/pics/porn and what not on to the external hard drive.

I ran the adware program in safe mode networking. It took 3 hours to complete because the computer was being so slow. Once it was done, I quarentined everything and all of a sudden it was back to regular speed. i restarted it, and the computer started up like nothing was ever wrong.

Although your advice may intend to be good sometimes, it's not needed when someone is looking for help LOCALLY, in which your advice would not help.
Edit: What seaneyo99 is saying is to NOT post in chapter sections that are not YOURS. I don't see what good that would do, if someone is looking for info from their chapter members. If they weren't, they would be posting it outside of their Chapter section.
Edit2: Sorry Keystone Members, I'm done making my point now

I love everybody, I made a post in the lounge too. Didnt really care who posted, but if it was someone local enough, i was gonna have them come over... ie. Jim, Jason, Dale...but none of those heads get on anymore.
go to a specialist wasnt really helpful, its like me saying my car wont run and you telling me to go to a mechanic... thats the obvious thing to do, but i want the help so i could save the 80 bucks and do it myself ;-)
