Can someone please delete the old one. I figured this needs a whole new thread.

So.... Twisted Vision now have all the molds made and production is ready to produce 2 full kits a week. I have been asked to give this one final push on here before the molds are chucked into the back somewhere and forgotten about / destroyed.

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d121/carboncougar/BodyKit%20In%20Progress/Kit1.jpg?t=1164032780

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d121/carboncougar/BodyKit%20In%20Progress/Kit2.jpg?t=1164033716

The price for the full kit (this includes both spoilers and the hood scoop) is $1,700
This is the best price and can NOT be reduced so please don't ask.

To ship just one kit, the best price we could get is $1,050 !!!! This just shows that the more people we get, the cheaper it will be as the cost of shipping will be greatly reduced if it is shared.

For anyone that is interested only in certain parts, please find the price list below.

Front bumper : $475
Rear bumper : $475
Side Skirts : $285
Front wings : $475
Rear arches : $285
Decklid spoiler : $285
Roof spoiler : $295
Bonnet Scoop : $85

Shipping per spoiler is $150 anywhere in the states / Canada
If you buy both spoilers, you get a $100 discount.

If anyone is actualy interested in the kit and prepared to put their money where their mouth is, please let me know via this thread, because if no kits are sold soon, the body shop will not bother looking after the molds and will just have to write off all the money they have invested in this kit.

So, for the last time, it's over to you guys.

BTW, yes I KNOW it's a lot of money, but what can I do?

I hope you don't mind me posting a link to pics of your car SSSSSS (http://www.newcougar.org/forums/showthread.php?t=100645&highlight=shagmonkey) but this is what this kind of thing could turn into.

I REALLY wish I had the money to buy one of these kits but I'm not in the position to spend ~$3,000 on the kit alone.

The idea of sending them all to a central location to be distributed kind of fell flat on it's face. Therefore, I was thinking we could just get buyers(of 2 or more), and then send the items to one of the buyers. Idealy in the same sort of location but I am aware the chances of that are very slim.

Shagmonkey
11-28-2006, 05:18 AM
OK, so for the three of you that want the decklid spoiler, shall we progress with the order now? That way you will get them before Christmas?

Let me know the address you will like them shipped too so I can get an exact shipping price for you before we go any further.

For those of you that are interested in a kit, here are some interesting facts for you:
To ship 1 complete kit to an address in America (I used GMKs as an example), would cost roughly $975
However, if we were to rent a container and ship them by sea, we could get 12 (TWELVE) kits shipped for only roughly $1,200 !!!!!
Now you can see why I want to get a group buy going because you guys will save soooooooo much on shipping. I mean $1,200 divided by 12 = $100 !! (Plus shipping from the central location to your own address).

Cheers

Paul

BTW, all transactions will be through PayPal so you will be covered by their policies. However, from a personal point of view, I can assure you all Twisted Vision only wants to treat you the very best they can as you guys are by far and away the biggest market for this kit etc They aren't stupid enough to shoot themselves in their own feet by failing you lot in anyway. Plus i have stated my reputation on them also

ok so what will the total amount be for the group shipping on the decklid spoiler?

That depends on the numbers involved.

I can give a rough price for shipping multiple kits because I know the cost of renting half a container on a ship.

With the spoilers, the number of spoilers will determine the size of the box.

Hope that makes sense....

ok so basically... the more the better for the spoilers, correct?

Shagmonkey
11-29-2006, 11:08 AM
Oh yes !!

The perfect soloution would be to pack all the spoilers in the container with the full kits, but the chances of people who only want a spoiler, waiting for kits to be made, then shipped by boat to America and then distributed inside America....are slim.

Hence why i think we should treat the groub buy for teh kits seperate to the group buy for the spoilers.

so can you readily make the spoilers or is there a set amount that you have in stock?

Shagmonkey
12-01-2006, 06:28 AM
They have the moulds and can thus knock them out as and when they want. They can make 2 full Cougar S kits a week so knocking out the spoilers is not a problem.

shadowfox28
12-01-2006, 08:34 AM
awesome. So If the two s kits are bought the shipping price will drop dramatically for the spoilers because They will share the same container? Would that situation make the shipping costs throw the total price of the spoilers down to somewhere in the $300 area?
:giddily waits for answer:

Shagmonkey
12-01-2006, 11:18 AM
If we can get a spoiler or two in the same box as a full kit, then yes, the shipping price for the spoilers would pretty much disappear. However, you might want to contribute a small amount to the person who would in effect be shipping your stuff for free for you. You would also have to pay for shipping from the kit delivery address to your own address.

I hope that makes some kind of sense.

Hello all.
I am sorry that I didnt do this sooner, but the person I left in charge of sortin this out let me down. So I got rid of him.

I am trying very hard to find a company to ship the kits cheaper. The problem we have is that alot of companies wont ship boxes that size and the ones that will charge for the wieght based on the size of the box ( 285kg ) when it actually only weighs 35kg. If I can find someone that will let me have a little space in a contaner that is already going to the US I should be able to get it out cheaper.

Our website is now running and we have new hosting, So you e-mails should now get to us. We where not recieving some of them it seems.

Jamie, its good to see you drop by, you make one hella a product.

I understand the difficulties and that there is no easy button solution [its always going to be expensive to ship]. Yes because of the size, you are always going to be dimensionally weighted for shipping costs. I know I pested you guys about the shipping dimensions the first time around and as far as US shippers, only one branch of fedex will accomidate that box... [length isnt an overall issue but the radius of the height and width is, otherwise it will jam the conveyors]. If you want I can work it all out again but as big as the box is, its only a few inches into the "Big Box" catagory, if there is any way to trim a few inches off, you can triple your shipping options.

We have managed to get the box size down to 2m x 90cm x 75 cm. That leaves only an inch or so around the kit for padding. If I try and force it smaller then I would have to bend the kit and I am afraid that would cause the kit to warp out of shape.

I have got the shipping cost of one kit down to £380 ($745.30) for a 10 day shipping time. I will keep trying to find cheaper, but I dont want to get so cheap that you get the kit in iddy biddy pieces.

The rear bumper is now the largest piece in the box.

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay.
Jamie has taken a week off work so i will do my best to stand in for him again.

Shipping for a spoiler is approx $145 (Based on a quote for another prospective customer).
Remember though that if you buy both spoilers together, Jamie will knock $100 off the price.

Hi guys. I am back and a little upset that there seems to have been no progress.
We have had a meeting and decided to discontinue the kit as of Jan 31st. It has cost us over £10,000 to develope this kit and I can not devote anymore time to making this work, As it is I have just had to lay off the person I took on to do my fibre glassing as there is nothing for him to do.
I might be willing to sell the moulds as I can see it will be more cost effective for you guys to have the kits made out there, and it is likely that the kit would get copied before not to long anyway. At which point I would never sell another kit.
Sorry about this, but I am out of options.
Have a good christmas all.

You don't need to mold the spoilers. You can just use automotive tape.

Shagmonkey

Decklid spoiler : $285
Roof spoiler : $295
Buy the two together for $480

Shipping would be appriximately $145 so you would be looking at a rough price of $625

For exact shipping quotes, send Twisted an email direct with your full address and ZIP Code.

As stated above, they don't need to be moulded on either. Automotive glue / tape can be used etc

No screws, just double sided tape. You will need to fill in the holes where the stock spoiler was.

One possibility is trying to find a hatch from a "base" Cougar like mine. It has no spoiler, no rear wiper, and no wiper motor. IDK what the exact number is, but it is considerably lighter than the Sport/Convenience hatch with all the stuff on it. If you found one the same color as your car, that would be optimal, since you would only need the spoilers themselves painted to go on the car.

At what price? Its pretty hard to say anything's going to sell if you don't list a price.

Straight up, I'm gonna tell you to save your money, cuz I just don't think its gonna happen. The people who have the money to play with on this platform are, by and large, interested in performance, not aesthetics. Hey, I think its a beautiful kit, and I'd love to have it, but I'm more interested in taking the money and making car go vroom, then making it look pretty and shiny.

If I get it done thru my compnay, no. It will be more durable, if I sell the molds to another manf, I can get flex.
