At the request of the Chairman of the Cougar Club of
America, The Delmarva Cougar Club and the Cougar Club
of NJ/PA (CCNJ/PA) will host a regional show to
celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Mercury Cougar
at Carlisle Events' annual All Ford Nationals, in
Carlisle, PA, June 1-3, 2007.

The clubs have negotiated a group rate at The Hotel
Carlisle, about 4 miles or 15 minutes drive time from
the Carlisle Fairgrounds, the site of the All Ford
event. Carlisle Events is excited about the
anniversary and, at the request of the DCC and
CCNJ/PA, has agreed to tout the Cougar 40th
anniversary theme in the show's promotional material.
We're planning a variety of Cougar specific classes
for all years of Cougars, and judging will be by popular
ballot.

Carlisle Events is providing 10 spaces within the
feature building "T" to display select Cougars, and
will provide us a special Cougar-only parking area
outside of building T.

The DCC and CCNJ/PA are working with Carlisle Events
to arrange for appearances by significant cars and
people in the Cougar's history, so check the CCNJ/PA
and DCC Web sites frequently for more details and
links to important information.

Why do I think they will not recognize the 99-02 Cougar as a true Cougar?

I don't know why you would think that as they recognized a 99-02 Cougar as a true Cougar when they graciously invited us to their gathering a couple of years ago. Rikenbomb, Tigg and I went and had a great time! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming and had nice things to say about our cars.

Jim, you can count on my attendance in Carlisle!

Interesting. I'll try to make it up there, depending on what happens. I look forward to seeing everyone there again.

whitecat, I don't know why you would think that either.

Oh now that'd be great for me, that's right about my debut time, so I might just have to make a trek out that way myself. =)

Gonna have to break out the "3 Generations of Cougar-owners" showboard of mine. ;)

I'll be there for sure. Thats close to me, im out of high school, and my car will be finished. Im excited to see E1's car in person too :)

Besides, we have 40 years of cougars at the house.. might have to get out the XR-7 hehe

Stealthy, that would rock to bring out the old XR-7! :D

I spent last night with my kids digging through about 30 years of car photos. I was able to find pics of both my Grandfather's and Grandmother's Cougars, but I have not yet found a good pic of my mom or dad's Cougs, kinda bummed about that...

Hoping that my timeline doesn't slip this year, so I can make this. I mean, how often will you see THAT many Cougar owners together at once? I simply cannot wait to check em all out, and show off my baby, of course. ;)

It was honestly refreshing to be able to see Cougars beyond our "new edge" Cougars. While today's Cougar does not at ALL resemble yesteryear's Cougars, I was definitely able to appreciate the machinery that started it all.

Sounds like a plan Terry! :D

Just map'd it and its showing 9 hours from my place, so that's actually doable for me I think. (Unlike the Cougar Nationals in Denver, which is 21 hours, prob not a good idea in my car...)

 So then its a 15 hour drive. We'll see what happens later in the year, but I'd like to get to this, maybe.

Why do I think they will not recognize the 99-02 Cougar as a true Cougar?

Absolutely, we want to recognize ALL years of Cougars. I only wish I could figure out how to track down the station wagon owners from the late 70's / early 80's so that we could have them join in the fun.

The plan is to have a NECO Cougar on display inside building U with the other special display cougars!
