i have no spark. my whole engine is together but no spark. now i did a search and some guy had his crank sensor replaced and that solved it for him. but i dont really know. every connector is connected. and every ground is touching metal, i sanded the paint away. i dont know what else to look for and i really wanted my car to start tonight.
please help me!!!
turns out the pulse wheel was missing so i just have to go about pulling the timing cover off an re-install it.
thanks for the help

I can't remember if we can jump the relay in our cars. I know I could on my mustang.

So you have no spark at all. Did you already disconnect one of the plugs to see if anything is sparking? If so check the lines to see if they suck ass or not. I know you don't have a spark but do you have any electricity? ie. head lights, stereo...etc? Or do you have full electricity and the car just doesn't do anything when you turn the key? No clicking at all, or any turning over. Just nothing??? If so check your clutch sensor. It might be ****ty. Mine was crap and I bought one of here from some one and put it in. Was only two wires and it just plugs in. After that the car never wouldn't start.

Then I'd check the clutch sensory at the base of the clutch. Or if its an auto check the brake sensor which is in the same spot. It sounds exactly like my car about 3 months ago.

He said there is no spark.... so it sounds like the car is turning over when he is turning the key so it is not that. The clutch and brake sensor disconnects power to the starter via the relay so it doesn't even crank over.
If it is not getting spark then check your coil pack and wires. I doubt all the wires are bad so focus on checking the coil. Then check all your fuses and look in the owners manual to find out which is which. It maybe one of those. Also check the ground wire that goes onto the back of the coil pack (silver one on back where bolt goes in), but I don't know if that would affect anything or not.
It doesn't sound like the pulse wheel since it would still get spark if the pulse wheel is on wrong, but throws off the timing and sparks at the wrong time. Thread here (http://www.newcougar.org/forums/showthread.php?t=90055&highlight=pulse+wheel). You can find some pics off proper pulse wheel on that thread.

I built the engine, I am sure the pulse wheel is correct, but even if it was not in the right orientation it would still get spark, just 120deg out of phase
