I've had the MSDS headers sitting in my spare room way too long and need to get them installed. I've gone to a couple of shops now and had both say that they won't do it 'cause of they're for off-road use only. Do any of you know of a place in San Diego that'll do the install? I live in Del Mar, so the closer the shop, the better. Thanks.

Dan.

Wait, the shops you are taking them to are offroad shops only or the shops are saying the headers are for offroad use only? Last year a flyer was left on my cougar for a place called revenge motorsports in el cajon. Supposidly they do engine swaps, building and maintenance. I held on to the flyer. Their phone number is 619-258-8968 and they are located at 1666 N. Magnolia Ave Suite C in el Cajon.

Also in Kearney mesa there is a performance shop just off the 52 on Convoy that may do it but I don't know anything about their shop.

Also be aware that emissions parts removal is illegal, which is why you probably keep getting turned away.

The legality was implied. The headers, I believe, are for off-road use only.

El Cajon's pretty far. And that place in Kearney Mesa off the 52, JBA Performance, is one of the two places that had said they couldn't do it. The other was Group5 Autosports, who was not familiar with the car and not up to the task.

Anything not certified as street legal will be called "Offroad Use Only" ;)

Damn, that's pretty tough. I asked the guys at MiraMesa Tire and Auto if they would do it for me and they said the would becuase I've been a customer of theirs for a few years.

I'd suggest doing it yourself but header work is not easy on a cougar. Have you tried taking to any "shadier" places? I still suggest you give Revenge Motorsports a call just to see about them. I have no other advice for ya except to try TJ.
