well, heres the lowdown. on wed. night at about 11pm i was going to a hotel party when some 16 yr old in his dad contour svt pulls up. i was riding behind my friend in his heavely modded eclipse gst. well they happen to catch a red lite and the svt spanks the hell out of my friends eclipse. the guy slows down beside me and i could see the little vortech sticker on the back glass and wants to race. i was like dude there is no way . so the guy gets pissed and starts swerving and **** the next thing i know he pulls over on me i hit the brakes and just happen to hit the loose gravel on the side of the road and slide into a curb going about 30. now heres what ive learned, the stock wheels are strong didnt crack at all but it ground a huge slice into it. blew the bf goodrock out. the control arms are designed to crumple under any type of hard contact so that the frame isnt damaged. so i wound up bending the mess out of it. the strut exploded there was oil everywhere. the fender well was ripped from the attaching points on the fender due to the tire slamming into it. and the radiator shield got ripped off. the final verdict instead of headers im now buying rims and tires, thank god i had saved that money, and its going to cost me 350.00 to fix the control arm(89.00 plus 2hrs) and the shock(90.00 plus 1hr) ill fix the fender well and radiator sheild my self. by the way will 225/40/16s fit on a 16x7?
