..I just ordered the KYB struts from Promotion-Tuning, Now remember I want to instal the coilovers on them so what step were needed to get them to fit?
Let me see if I have this right
Step 1) Go to Home Depot & buy the bit that shaves metal(is it the one that looks like a round cylinder like a stone I guess) what did you all use?
Step 2) shave each strut above where the collar is till the coilover fits over it.
Step 3) Cut the collar completely off because I have no idea why but was told to?
Will this be the right process in doing this?
O by the way whats the difference between coilovers & ground controls?

GC's are CO's. You ordered from Promotion Tuning?? I guess you have enough time to get this right then. I'm assuming you have the GC knockoffs? Once you remove the dustcovers from the struts. You'll see the tops kind of flared out a little bit. Thats what keeps the sleeves from going on. those will be what need to be ground for them to fit. When I did mine, I already had Matrix CO's on there..So I created a hybrid set and used the Matrix sleeves :)

you will also need to cut the perch off the struts above the weld. leave the weld so the d-ring has something to sit on.

the perch is the part of the strut that the spring would sit on. you have to remove it for the coilovers. but make sure you leave enough meat on the weld for the d-rings to sit on
