'01 Cougar for sale, lots of pics inside, $6k O.B.O

Hey guys, I recently bought a '06 Civic Si and love it to death, but I have to sell my trusty cougar. Im the only owner of this 2001 fully loaded Silver Frost Cougar and I used it as my daily commuter to college, it has a total of 82,000 miles and it is a 5spd with cd player, leather seats and fog lights. The car has been kept in excellent condition with no major accidents, it has a few mods on the car and also a few that I have on the side if the buyer wants them.

This list includes a full exhaust system, MSDS headers, high flow cat, a custom dual exhaust with a bullet muffler and also a AEM SRI, shaved trunk, taillight covers, B&M short shifter, OMP Front Strut Bar, I custom painted the rear and front grille areas and I also have a set of stock 16inch rims with two snow tires for the front. Currently on the car are some decent but aged 18inch Konigs, there is also a wings west front grille.

The car also has the original sticker with all the receits of the work done on it. It has recently recieved a new alternator, transmission (at 60k miles with new clutch) new battery, and new fuel pump. The suspension and breaks were done not to long ago. The car starts right up and doesnt make any type of noise, its in really great shape. The oil was changed by a dealer every 3,000 miles.

Included are 13 pics of the car inside and out and a short sound clip of my exhaust. I am currently looking to get $6000k O.B.O for it even if the blue book value is at 7200. I really dont want to get rid of this car, its been a part of me for 5 years now and I love her to death, but I really cant afford to keep her sitting around rotting away. Im hoping someone will appreciate this car as much as I did.

Faster than an si... stock si is a 14.8-9 at best. There have been a few low 14s, as well as a contour that ran a 13 all motor. Don't come on here thinking because you have a sub 15 second car that your car is faster than every cougar ever.

You morons should do your research before you bash the Si. A couple of people have gotten the Si to 14.2 and 14.5 STOCK. You can cram in that 3.0 into your 3600lbs cars and think your fast, but a cougar doesnt compare to an Si in no way, shape or form. Theres a turbo kit available for the Si that pushes it up to 302hp to the wheels and thats only on 7lbs of boost. Do you have any idea what motor the Si has? Ever hear of a k20? The same k20 motor in the RSX that is capable of 450 hp without motor work? Or the same k20 that is capable of 700 hp?

Dude, you're trying to sell your car, no? Why insult your potential buyers? I happen to love both cars, as I'm sure many on these boards do (although not many would admit their love of a honda, lol), but you might want to try being a tid bit nicer, it might get you a little bit further. :crazy:

14.2....:bs: no matter what. Are you saying that there's someone who shaved a full second off the Car and Driver time with no extra mods?

Stock does not include drag radials by the way. Stock means you race it like it would sit on the lot new.

Show me some proof that a STOCK civic ran a 14.2 and i'll apologize. Btw, i'm sure people who came here and read your comments against cougars will really want to purchase yours now.

Well I had another great night for racing at Dragway 42 last night. Temps were in the upper 50's with alomst no humidity. I ran a total of 8 times, each time getting faster and faster. Last run of the night was butter, Right from the lauch I knew it was going to be fast. Here is my new PB:

Believe it or not the car is STILL 100% stock. The only thing I did different was drop my front tire pressure to 23 psi and took out the spare tire to make up for the half a tank of gas I had. I also power shifted. The car felt great. I ran 5 - 14.5's total.

Can't wait to add the Injen cold air intake to see how that helps me out. Although I want to get it dynoed before I add it. I've gotten really consistent with this car. All of my runs were within a tenth of a second!

Vids won't be up until tomorrow night. This is my best run so far and i'm really pleased with it. Only thing i did was drop tires to 22psi, still had the jack/spare and all my school crap in the trunk. Im not happy with the 60ft but oh well......not much else i can do on all seasons.:thumb:

Theres two examples of stock cars running 14.5 and 14.7 and these numbers get lower and lower. Someone ran a 14.1 with basic bolt ons and slicks pretty impressive if I do say so myself.

Oh and the turbo Si has 202 lbs of torque with 302 hp to the wheels, not bad when the car only weighs barely 2800lbs. This is why imports>domestics, amazing motors in light cars and you have some of the best performing cars in the world, the s2000 and nsx come to mind.

Oh and I would never sell my cougar to anyone on this forum, youre all a bunch of pissed off people with a dying community. I cant really blame you, thats why I bought a much better car with a much better community. Now :gtfo:

Dude...im the only one being rude to you, don't call out the entire cougar community. And incase you didn't notice, I don't own a cougar anymore anyways. I just hang around here because this is my favorite forum on the internet. Everyone is very helpful and friendly no matter if it's your 1st post or 1000th.

Anyways, you said "14.2". Three 10ths is a whole bunch bud. Now go buy 800 dollars in mods for your si...and i'll beat you with my car with 800 dollars in mods.

Also, my run was done in 95 degree heat with maryland humidity over the summer. It would probably be closer to 13.3 if i ran on a 60 degree day like the guy with the stock si.

He asked you to show a time of 14.2 :bs: which you boatsed and you post a 14.5 time and 14.7 so from that alone :gtfo: I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that when these Si's were running they also sounded like a pissed off weed wacker zooming down the track. So from that stand point alone I'd never be caught dead in one, nothing compares to my flowmaster goodness. Can't wait for the 3L I'm dropping in. Should sound even sexier and I'll be more than happy to challenge neone driving around in an Si that has the same attitude you do. I don't get how YOU expect to sell a car YOUR bashing in YOUR own thread:crazy:
