Steering wheels are MAD EASY to install; I was shocked.

Not long, hour tops maybe? Aside from the time taken to find a t30 screw driver.

Do the Cruise buttons work? and did you have to do any splicing of wires to get them to work properly?

That looks nice with the 01/02 guages and wheel, I'd love to get one of those wheels and some nicer guages ... my wheel looks like sh!t. It's got some redish crap stuck in the lettering on it and it just looks old (like all the 99/00 wheels do because they suck). I hate you.

Brett's cruise is busted on the throttle body side, and we haven't got it working yet. But all of the plugs on the clock spring mated right up (all 2 of them - airbag and cruise). I'm sure if the cable was attached it would work perfectly.

Yeah works fine, its fabled that the 02 wheel has different connectors, I dont know for sure. One odd thing though, is the cruise light on the guages will stay on without cruise being on, until I turn my running lights/headlights on. Then it goes off. Andy and I dont understand it.
Thanks for the props Anthony! You need one yes.

You have a cruise light on your dash? What does it look like and where's it at? My cruise works but I have never had a light!

I know! I want one too.
It's on the left bank of gauge lights, near the half-tank mark on the fuel gauge. It's a little green light with an image of a gauge face with a needle on it. I would so love to have one on my cluster, but I think it was just on the 01 cluster he swapped it.

Oh ok, the standard cruise light. I figured Ford had some funky nondescript icon they would use instead :) I'm sure we could figure out how to make it work properly (maybe a similar setup to the IMRC light mod?).

The thing is, the light is on only when my headlights/running lights arent on. So when I turn my lights on, that light goes off. When I set my cruise, it doesnt come back on. My cruise does work, its just that there is cable lag, so when I set it, it decels. Then I have to hold the "+" button, after about 5 seconds of the slack being picked up the car will start to accel, but wont stay at that speed. So we just need to figure out a way to cut off some of the slack.
So, im thinking there is something with the 99 model and that cruise light that dont match up. Some kind of circuit that would normally tell the cluster to light that light up might be missing, it makes little sense to me.

I would say you're right, since 99/00 don't have cruise lights. We would have to make our own system to make it function correctly. I'm sure there's some way to tell that the cruise system has been activated and make that light come on.
