My car rear brakes scaping sound Like they would be rusty but not because sound appears after use?

Could be the sensors in the pad warning you that you need to change them. Pull the tire off and see how much life it left on the pad.

My rear drums have finally worn down at 97k miles. They're making a sort of faint grinding noise. Do you have rear drums?

Rear disk brakes
2002 c2 cougar more grinding sound then aa sensor would make and sound is not frequent? seems after hard braking is when I hear it?

Check your Rotors....might be cracked? IF your doing hard breaking that might of screwed with them, dont know if stock rotors can take a beating. You might get more help under "problems" section on the forum

Check to see if you caught a rock up in there. I had that happen to a F-150 I had once, right front disc brake. Sound was inconsistent, scraping noise. Rock (pebble, really) was between the caliper and rotor. Still don't see how it stayed there, but it did. Good luck.

you might be warping your rotors, thats wat happened in my case...
