does anyone know a reputable place that will do the 3l swap without saying "oh that engine wont fit in your car" bull**** that i get sometimes. reasonably priced to, i want to be able to drop one in with all the goodies for like 5k if its possible.:)

Most shops will need to be educated on what they will need to do to drop the motor in.

If after you tell them they give you that line then they just don't want to do it.

I don't know any places out by you that would do it though......I live in the country :rofl:.

i don't know anyone that would do the swap in NY either. Nobody knows wtf to do with these cars, and nobody wants to be bothered.

I can only think of one person who paid someone to do it, and he was in NJ...and it took the guy a while of consulting manuals and other people to get it going right.

bottom line is if you want the job done well you're gonna wind up having to take it far away . dunno if anyone reads fordcontour.org, but there is a guy there, Terry Haines that will do the swap for you...for a flat fee as well. He's in michigan though...so if you don't mind driving 11 hours and flying back cause he'll have the car for a while. But you wont have to worry about it blowing up on you in a week.

how about the guys from pro-motion tuning aka custom cougars. they are in virginia and thats not a problem. they said they would do it

Blackcoog does 3L swaps for a decent price, much less than 5K, and he has done it several times.....14 times actually. You should PM him to see what it takes, and his fees. It may be worth it for someone who knows what they are doing!
