So when I open my bottle ( heated ) ...pressure is at 9K PSI. If I close the bottle... pressure stays at 9K PSI ..It will drop to almost 8K PSI ... I know that keeping the bottle opened can cause damage to the solenoid.. Do I have to purge the lines when I close my bottle or the nitrous that stays in the line doesnt have enought pressure to damage anything ??

Im totally confused because my gauge still reads 8K PSI ...wondering if I have to empty my nitrous line after closing the bottle to remove pressure in the lines ...

For now ..I always empty my nitrous line to avoid damage ...but that way Im wasting some precious power

I just wanna hear it from you guys that its ok to leave nitrous in the line as long the bottle is closed ...

I think your gauge is broken. Nitrous shoudn't be above 1100 psi.

Hell, blow down tubes release at 3000 psi.

You mean 900psi not 9k or 9000psi...

When you close the bottle there is still pressure in the lines... the nitrous is still in the line pressing against the solenoid on one end and the bottle valve on the other. Purging the line after the bottle is closed is a good idea.

Then after reopening the bottle, purging the air from the line till you actually expel N2O will make sure the next run is at it's best.

depends if he's running 1 or 2 bottles. Either way you should be around 900 to 950 max psi per bottle. 9k would be a nightmare!!!!!!

the bottle will rupture violently at around 6k psi.

Even if you were running 2 bottles the pressure is going to be the same. It would just equal out. So say you have one bottle full and the other empty, when you opened both bottles they would just equal out. He probably just meant 900 not 9K.

Ya sorry ... I meant 900 instead of 9K .. So I gonna get a purge kit then !!

purge kit shoulda been one of the first thing you purchased with your nitrous kit.

Vent whatever nitrous is leftover in the lines once closing the valve. Not closing the lines could and more than likely cause a solenoid to fail and/or the thread seal to weaken.

Purging is always a good idea. It is functional and looks/sounds awesome.
