oh it was just irrestible.

edison, moraki is holding cougtoberfest Sept 30th at his place in St. Louis. He's thown this party before and its suppose to be a great time.

Octoberfest is the party my parents throw every few years. I'm not trying to step on doug's legs, the dates are a coincidence. I'd highly encourage everyone who has the means to attend dougs party. Its an actual cougar event and he's got places [assuming] for you to crash. I dont, I'm going to kick you out at the end of the night. So if your in the area, cant commit to a solid weekend of binge drinking [or Sonza talking about his hobbies (http://www.moldaramaville.com/)], and just want a good free german beer, DEFINITELY stop by! I'll post more info as the date approaches.

and sonza, there are multiple toms in this world, do I need to add last names?

cougtober

correct, that would be the party doug is attending.

if doug wants I can keep an accurate attendance duplicate for him, but only if he wants [I'm a good moderator like that;) ].

actually you know what, I'll make doug this promise, if I can get my cougar up to roadtrip status, I will gladly attend your party over mine. I'd really like to get some miles on my car before it goes in storage for the winter. And I mean that as an honest promise. All I need for that to happen [is get my car back from the body shop], buy a new outer tie-rod, replace the drivers side knuckle assembly [which tom supplied me with a spare.... mad props to tom!], and get an alignment. So we are talking about a hundred bucks, a six pack of beer, a saturday afternoon, and a day at the mechanics. I think I can swing that by the end of the month.

[P.S> hey tom, have you tried driving around with a stripped trunk yet? holy crap, its... ummm dangerous. removing the spare and all the interior really stiffened the back to the point it was uncontrollable on imperfect pavement]

. . . Terry . . . I haven't had a full trunk or interior since March . . . and I've never had any problems with the car being uncontrollable . . .

Plus I think Terry's struts are set to full hard (that's how mine were shipped). I haven't had a chance to really push it yet, although I should be making my second autocross event this Sun, so I should know more then.

actually from the factory, it appears they set them approximately to the middle.... I have the fronts on full soft [but because its a pain in the ass to remove the rear struts just to adjust the valving, they are on medium].

I dont know what it was but when I was driving it to the body shop the other day, the rear end was quite literally jumping off ground. It was behaving much different than that when I had the spare in the trunk and my bowling ball.

but at this point, I think I can point out the obvious that my car is over stiff.

sweet, so I ordered new inner and outer tierods from BAT, I should have them in a week. meaning I'll have 2 weeks to swap them in and get an alignment.
