The route 7 ordeal around Home Cheapo seems to be wrapping up, but...
Curry Road is closing over 890 on Friday, September 8 at 9 AM. They don't say for how long. Seeing how close it is to winter, I'd guess for several months.

sucks for me b/c thats how i hop on 890 every morning... looks like im gunna have to drive down to chrysler for a while... that or take the ramp for the 890 tolls then pull a U-E

You can't get on 890 from Chrisler. You'd have to take Hamburg all the way to Altamont, then right on Altamont to a left on Brandywine to the 890 ramp.
Just take High Bridge. Just turn right at the old Grand Union, where there is the Pub & Ice cream shop at the light. Onto E. Campbell. Then take a left onto High Bridge at the funny intersection, wave at the Time Warner building, and hop on 890 right after the overpass.

DOT says it will only be closed for approximately 20 days.

i know they made swiss cheese of it... i went under around 3:30 and they were down to about 1/2 the bridge...
20 days isnt so bad... i was hoping it wouldnt go into the winter season... that could have gotten ugly

I'm just hoping that what looks like is going to happen underneath doesn't happen... It looks like they're going to push everyone over to one side, from 4 lanes to 2 lanes. That should make my morning/evening commutes OH SO MUCH FUN!

its definitely going to be CRAZY... on my way home the otherside of highbridge (coming from the tolls) was so backed up 890 that way might as well have been 1 lane... highbridge is going to be a MAJOR bottleneck for the next month

I don't know why they said they weren't "replacing" it...I just went through there and, other than the piers, it's completely gone. And, yes, they are working weekends, they were drilling concrete to bits.

ROUTE 7 (CURRY ROAD) BRIDGE WORK OVER INTERSTATE 890: The rehabilitation of the bridge carrying Curry Road over I-890 adjacent to Thruway Exit 25 continues with various single lane closures from 9AM to 3PM and around-the-clock shoulder closures on I-890 westbound. This project is anticipated to continue into the fall. This bridge is scheduled to close on Friday, September 8, for approximately 20 days. Bridge is now open... used it this am :)
