1999-2003 3.0L DOHC Duratec Engines only from the following vehicles swap with fairly little work.

Ford Taurus
Mercury Sable
Ford Escape
Mazda Tribute

1999-2003 3.0L DOHC Duratec Engines only from the following vehicles swap with some extra customizations needed

Lincoln LS
Jaguar S-Type
Mazda 6

3.0L Jaguar X-type is also a duratec.

The Jaguar engines, Mazda 6 engine and Lincoln LS engines all use Variable valve timing which would be practically impossible to adapt over to the Contour/Cougar platform without bringing over all the electronics from that car. The variable valve timing is one reason why these engines have more power than the normal 3.0L's. It might be possible to use the blocks but then you might as well use the Tuarus/Sable/Escape engine because your just paying more for the name if you get the jaguar/LS/6 block.

What are the differences in the Escape/Tribute engine versus the Taurus/Sable engine? Are there any advantages or disadvantages to using one over the other aside from price? (The Taurus engines seem to run slightly cheaper)

is there anything bigger then a 3.0 litter that would fit will almost no modding done maybe something like a 3.2 or larger?
