this thread is going to have to be locked to avoid stupidity like this being posted in here.

Re: READ THIS FIRST - WHAT ENGINES WILL FIT MY CAR?

It shouldn't have to be locked.

I just don't understand why this is so hard to comprehend.

If anyone is searching like they claim they are, then they will find the ONLY engine that is easily transplanted in to our cars is the Duratec. Or, at the very least, they will find that NO OTHER FREAKING ENGINE HAS EVER BEEN PUT IN OUR CAR FOR STREET APPLICATION.

Logic and process of elimination dictates that, if searching for answers turns up no results, it hasn't been done. And if it hasn't been done, then there is a reason for it.

Its just mind boggling, I mean, what needs to happen, a thread that lists all of the engines that WON'T fit in the Cougar? There's just no reason for the "Will such and such engine fit my car?" posts.

The simple answer is, if its not a 3L Duratec, it won't fit barring fabrication of an insane level, and if you choose to engage in such a project, you do so knowing you are breaking completely new ground and that these forums will likely be of very little help to you.

Just because we didn~t find it in search doesn~t mean it can~t be done. just because the guru~s on here haven~t done it already. Anything is possible with the money. I see so many video clips of Cougars that are RWD with Stang motors in them and other type of motors etc... etc.. Anything can be done depending on how much money you wish to spend. so if any1 wanted to stick a bigger size motor than a 3.0l it can be done, but yes it is gonna cost them a heck of a lot of money. but it could (keyword could) still be done.

Edit ( So many video clips) To Several. I didn~t mean tons of them. More of around 8.

uhh, there has been one cougar (apart from the two drag cars) that has been converted to RWD. so please explain to me where you are finding "so many video clips" as i would like to know. probably can't produce the links though, and you know why? because there aren't any, aside from the BayWay cougar.
